My upcoming rig......

Mann you would have got EVGA Geforce 9800GTX SSC Edition if you could afford 6,000 extra :p

I don't need all that power - the 9800GTX is clearly for monitors above 24". a 9600GT is more than enough to handle all games at 22" resolutions.

And who told you that the 9800GTX is for Rs. 16000/-? Simply converting the dollar value doesn't do it. There are much more complications. If I would go with the dollar value, I should have got the 9600GT for about Rs. 6000/- ;) Specially with the higher end cards there's a whole lot of loot in india. :D

India looters country lol :D:p I saw the price of it on http://www.evga.com in USD if not in India could have imported frm US. around 100 $ for shipping. Hell thats near the price of XFX 8800GT Alpha Dog edition. who would like to buy a XXX edition card is getting fastest till date around the same price.

Hey guys. I just received my Biostar TP35D2-A7 motherboard. I must say its pretty nicely packed. I'm going to open up and install it now. Will probably get back tommorrow. :)

Wish me luck. :) :D ;) :p

You talk 30%? You talk less. :p

I have just got around to a stable 9x333=3GHZ stable OC. The voltage is a bit on the higher side(1.42V after Vdroop).

I even booted fine with 8x400=3.2 GHZ, even completed a few tests, but Wprimes long stability test fails after 10-12 mins. I'll get around in the next few hours to find this out, whether its a chipset or proccessor bottleneck. I really do need Arctic Silver 5 now though, my temperatures are maxing out on 64C. :D Idle is around 36C.

And yes, I must say the board is an excellent overclocker for the price. Without any boost in chipset voltage, I was cruising on 400FSB. I am sure the board can reach around 450FSB too.

Yeah, got it for around Rs. 4300. Still, its an AWESOME board. I mean, roughly for $100, you get a board that does 450FSB easily, has a P35 chipset, ATX form factor, good number of BIOS options, 8 channel audio, the list goes on! And knowing I have full support for 45nm quads and duals for the future, I can rest assured that I won't need to change the board until I have to buy Nehalem, which wouldn't be anytime before 2010. :)

Update to Overclock.
I just dropped the vcore to only +0.25 to normal, and I can still run stable at 9 * 333MHZ = 3GHZ. Which means the problem causing 8 * 400 = 3.2 GHZ is related to either heating issues, or NB voltage(which is currently auto).

I must blame Intel. 2 months ago, when I bought an E2160, atleast they gave me a full blown Aluminium cooler. This time, they have given me less than half the size of it, the same toy cooler they bundle with 45nm's. Someone needs to tell them that the E2160 is still 65nm. :brickwall :brickwall :p

No, my RAM's stuck at 667 Mhz Dual channel. Thats the problem why I want 8 * 400, so that my RAM comes up at 800MHZ. If I use the next divider with 333FSB, my Ram goes upto 1140mhz, which clearly is not acceptable for a 800mhz RAM. :)

But some of my own testing and some reviews say it, that there arent any big performance differences, since dual channel already provides hell lot of bandwidth, and there really should be no bandwidth bottleneck even in the 667 Dual Channel. But I will surely try 8 * 400 to get the maximum. :)

For now, I am staying at 9 * 333Mhz on stock vcore. Yes, somehow its working, and that helps keeping temps in check. I will only try 8 * 400 once I find some Arctic Silver and remount the NB and CPU. :) Abhas, do you know some shop in Nehru Place or anywhere in Delhi that can get me AS5? Or I would have to order from Mumbai. :D
