My upcoming rig......

well... i'm not too sure many people will have that in Nehru place... still you can try out a few shops:

R.R. Systems
SMC

I vaguely remember 1 shop which used to have awesome stuff, but it's closed now :(

You'll have to roam around for 2 hours atleast to get that.
If it is not a hassle, just order it from Mumbai. Peace of Mind. :D

How much does it cost??

Its around Rs 375 or about $6 in the US. Its a must have for any overclocking system though.

I tried with SMC, and I think he didn't have it. And unfortunately, I can't go to nehru place anymore, atleast for a month. Got stuff. :D

Coming from bombay will take another 1-2 weeks, and I didn't want to wait that longer lol. :D

Alright guys, another OC update.

After loads of tweaking around, I finally found the culprit limiting my OC. Its not my CPU but my chipset. Prime95 used to error at 10 mins. The reason is my chipset voltage was too high(1.6V) and that resulted it in reaching temperatures about 93C. :p. Anyways, I looked around and couldn't set it below 1.39, which is still quite low but I need even lower. Now Prime95 can stretch to 19 minutes but errors after that. Chipset temperatures are like 72C. Still too high.

I've informed Biostar Tech support about this and maybe they come out with a BIOS solution. Until then I guess I'll stick with a very mild 9*266 so my Chipset doesn't get too hot. Also planning on installing a fan. :)

93c, yikes thats hot. I get worried if my Asus goes over 55c. :)

That can't be right, it would have been on fire pretty much without a fan to keep it cool.

Speedfan does have one strange senor, that reports incorrect high temps i think.

Yeah, speedfan's reporting one as 127C constant. I've just got to ignore it lol.

Its ok at the stock voltage though. I'm still to get a response from Biostar(I've heard they are good), and I am too afraid to download a modded BIOS from a website like rebelshavenforum.com.

My CPU runs at around 86 C without any prob. Windows is also smooth

WTH! You would fry that little chip! Even if its an old Netburst chip, it doesn't deserve to be fried at that temps! You got to do something man, what's your CPU?
Its a Pentium 4 2.66 Ghz. I wanted to change my heatsink but that guy is saying Rs 500 for the heatsink. I can't afford it as I am a student :crying :crying Its not a case of 2 or this weeks thats nearly one year now and it still runs fine.

I would expect your cpu is Throttling itself to avoid damage, i would guess at about 80c it would start, and reduce the cycles of the cpu to avoid a serious overheat and then cpu failure. It would start somewhere around 75-80c, and if it reached 90+ the cpu would shut down to prevent damage. Its still unhealthy for it though, and is probably shortening its life span.
