NOKIA World Premier League 2009

The World Premier League is a Twenty20 cricket competition created by International Cricket Council. It is said to be the next generation domestic Twenty20 competition in the world. The first season of the World Premier League will start on May 15, 2009. There are 6 teams participating in this event from all the test playing nations expect South Africa, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh which are expected to be added in next season. It is decided that the basis of the league would be six teams playing each other with semi-finals and final.Teams play each other two times in a round robin system, with equal number of matches. The top four ranking sides will progress to the semi-finals.
