Brendon Mccullum

New Zealand wicket-keepers have traditionally been poor run-scorers in WCs, with the best of the lot, undoubtedly, being Brendon McCullum, the former Kiwi ODI skipper.

McCullum’s stats of 742 WC runs, at an average of 34 and a strike-rate (SR) of 120 may look healthy, but a closer scrutiny will reveal that these figures have been bloated by performances.

While one-down is not his favourite batting position, the incredible striking prowess of Baz, I believe, could best be utilized here, especially given the fact that none of the openers can exactly be termed ‘dashers’.

The right-hander’s WC averages against Australia, India, Pakistan, South Africa and Sri Lanka make for a dismal reading – 8, 4, 6, 8 and 7 respectively.
Don't think you should write this for your own pick :p

Nah it's nice to read all that. I was hoping there will be a healthy discussion too along with the drafts, we did have one during the last WC draft. It makes the process lot more fun. I remember how Papa Smurf picked up Dipak Patel in the NZ round and most people didn't agree with him.

Don't think you should write this for your own pick :p

Scotty Styris. Will update soon.

Styris is a fantastic pick and I was just hoping Bigby picked up Bond and then I can take Styris. I can never let Bond go, he is my favorite bowler ever! Styris has a wonderful batting record in WCs and can be a very handy 6th bowler.

@Rebel2k18 if I'm not wrong 'others' refers to associate teams and 'best of rest' refers to unpicked players right?

Yep. Others is all the teams which have participated in the WC but do not have their specific round. And then the last round is a no country restriction round.[DOUBLEPOST=1539256925][/DOUBLEPOST]
He ain't better than the player I've been eyeing at 3 though! ;)
Aah damn you are number 1 to pick in the WI round so yeah you have got the perfect number 3 sealed!

Rahul Dravid.

He is well known as 'The Wall' of Indian Cricket. Since he was a great test player, he wasn't considered as a ODI batsman. He proved everybody wrong through his consistent performances in 1999 WC where he average more than 60 and also created many records on that WC. His highest score in WC is 145 which resulted in huge 300+ partnership with Ganguly against SL which became was a world record. The same SL that had once wrecked India in 1996.

In 2003 WC, Indian WK Nayan Mongia got injured which forced Dravid to keep wickets for rest of the tournament. He also continued his consistent performance with the bat in the same tournament but failed miserably after WC. He also failed as a captain in 2007 WC where India got kicked out in group stage itself. Although, he still averages more than 60 in WC games.

He will play at his regular position of no.3 and will also be my Wicket-Keeper.

Rahul Dravid's World Cup Stats:

Innings: 22
Runs: 860
Average: 61.42
SR: 74.97
HS: 145
100s: 2
50s: 6
