Treva wants move after being stripped of captaincy
Dublin Destroyers star bowler Treva has told the press that he wishes to move clubs, even if it means moving down a division. Treva was recently relieved of his captaincy duty earlier this month, and has now decided that he needs a change of scenery.
Treva spoke to the media this afternoon and had this to say: "It's definitely time for me to move on. The team is being given a makeover after the new management have come in, and I don't wish to be a part of it. I enjoyed last season, but I don't think I could enjoy another season at Dublin. I'd like to thank the owner of Dublin for making me skipper last season, and I'd also like to thank the late Iloveireland."
When asked whether a move away would mean a move down the division he responded in a positive manor. "It makes no difference to me. It's about enjoyment, and if a team in the second division can give me that then it doesn't matter. Obviously I would like to be playing first division cricket, but if that's not possible then so be it."
It is expected that the Dublin management will be setting a high sale price, which could cause problems between them and Treva. Rumours have it that Treva has a ?750k release clause fee, although we are not yet sure whether this is true.
More news from the Dublin Destroyer camp as it comes on this matter...
