I think Indian players are more comfortable with those strap pads, especially Sachin.
I think he is comfortable with those pads and he have a habit to keep things for long.
He used his Mumbai Indians pads while playing for India for a long time.
He must have a habit of keeping things for long because he said in an interview that he used one bat for 2 and a half years, he also said he used morrant pads or something like that. But I have no idea when that interview took place I just remember reading it on a website.
Did not know that about Sachin, pretty cool in my books. Always hear about how the man respects and reveres every aspect of the game, down to his bat and now apparently his pads.
I loved those fat pads when I was a kid. Ganguly and Tendulkar. I remember I hated Dravid's stuff, he always had the regular things. That was when I was little. Judged players by those random things, rather than their skills.
And also, to me it always looked like as if Ganguly and Tendulkar gets those pads out of a freezer right before they come out to bat. It always looked very whit and icy. :laugh
