I don't know if O'Keefe and Hopes are going to do well, but that's just the makeup of the squad. At least they've gone with bowlers. I doubt dropping Watson is anything serious, but if he can't bowl, they need to balance the side.

If the pitch is a little bit worse after yesterday's game then it might slightly be in Australia's favour. If Pakistan have to bat more responsibly, they might slip up. However, that is balanced by their bowling, which generally does well in lower scoring conditions.

Clarke opening is a good idea, but I'd still rather see White and Mike Hussey move up the order.

It's increasingly valid to open with a spinner, as teams tend to promote players who can bat aggressively against the fast bowlers. Deny them that opportunity and see what happens.

Good total. Pakistan started well, but good use of spin and short pitched bowling got Australia back into it.
