TEST series will be very tough, the Lankans have a pretty strong batting lineup and in bowling they have Herath. He is all they need. I think a drawn series would be a job well done for us.

Our main focus should be to up our rankings into top four before the ICC Test championship, so this series is a good platform for that purpose.

Herath is biggest threat for our batsmen. We have traditionally struggled against left arm orthodox even the mediocre ones. Herath is a good bowler and I can see him making life very tough for Pakistani Batsmen. Sri Lankars seamers however may not make much of an impression. Kulasekara troubled us a lot in Sri Lanka but I don't know if he can get the same kind of prodigious swing he got in his home country, in UAE. I don't know if he is part of the squad or not though.

Kula has fallen by the wayside. The incumbents from the last series hold their places. Welegedera gets a bit of swing. They have their moments, but on the whole you'd think they'd rather bowl on nice grassy pitches.

The backups are Prasad and Pradeep; both bowlers who are a bit more hustle and bustle. With the state of the bowling in mind, the much touted Pradeep may well come straight in.

Doesn't matter. If the pitches are anything like the series against SA last year, then we are in for another boring run-fest. Even Steyn and Morkel found it difficult to trouble the Pak line-up.

Sadly I am not too hopeful when it comes to pitches. I think spinners will play the mpst important part from both sides, It will be some contest between Herath and Ajmal that who will trouble the opposition most but Herath will have an edge only becuase Srilankan's play spin very well.

It is highly unlikely becuase it is not a series against Bangladesh or Zimbabwe where you can test your pool. I believe it will be a trio of Ajmal, Rehman and Hafeez.
