Story Pakistan's Road to Glory (ICC 2008) **1st test, presentation update**

Pakistani batsman has done the job, now its their's bowler to gain advantage. 149 is a reasonable lead. Pakistan need few early wickets to pressurise India. Good presentation Raamz ;)

Batsman have done to job. 149 is a good lead and you some quick wickets to put India in trouble but I personally feel the declare could have come a bit later in the third day say around 250 lead. But know it depends on the bowling.

Nice stuff, KUTGW

Cracking batting by Pakistan, a very good lead they have built up. Hopefully the bowlers will perform again and let Pakistan get a well deserved victory against the "Auld" enemy :p

India started off their inning with a trail of 149 runs on Day 3. Gambhir and Sehwag were the openers.

Umar Gul started the proceedings for Pakistan bowiling the first over.

The opening partnership did not last long because of some brilliant bowling by Umar Gul. He shattered Sehwag's stumps on the last ball of the first over, removing him for 5 off 5 balls, and India were down, 6 for 1.

And trouble struck India when Gul got another wicket, with the support of Misbah Ul Haq who caught Gautham Gambhir for just 3 off 5. Umar Gul on fire!!

VVS Laxman was in to bat next. And soon, India were into more trouble. Sachin Tendulkar was caught by Misbah-ul-Haq off Sohail Khan for just 8 off 17.

The Wall, Rahul Dravid was in next and at a stage where he actually had to be the wall for India.

At the end of the first session of day 3, Pakistan lead by 63 runs and India are 86 for 3.

India got a really good partnership going on and at the end of the second session, India were still 3 down with 200 runs on the board.

And finally after a good long inning, Dravid was trapped LBW by Umar Gul for 109 off 215 balls.

Saurov Ganguly came in next while at the other end Laxman continued to bat really well and was at 154 off 228 balls.

Day 3 ended with India on 336 for 4 and Laxman played a brilliant knock of 181 and was still unbeaten on the crease.

Day 4 started off and Pakistan took the new ball after 89 overs but were going to start the day off with the new ball. Umar Gul again got the new ball.

And finally the danger man, VVS Laxman was gone for a superb match saving inning of 259 off 356 balls. Caught by Hafeez, bowled by Iftikhar Anjum. Krishankumar Karthik was in to bat next.

Saurov Ganguly was fone soon after the second session started. He was caught by Misbah-ul-Haq off Sohail Khan for 76 off 146 balls, and the tail was exposed, bringing in Anil Kumble.

Umar Gul was brought back into the attack and he struck on his second over, and trapped Anil Kumble, LBW for 17 off 31 balls. Harbajhan Singh came in next.

And finally a spinners strike came on, when Afridi got Karthik LBW for 36 off 81 balls. Zaheer Khan came in next, who did not wait and smashed Afridi for a huge six and got a single on the next ball. Afridi struck the very next ball and got Harbajhan Singh caught behind for 2 off 4. RP Singh the 11th man was in next.

Umar Gul got his 5th victim in the very next over by trapping Zaheer Khan LBW for 7 off 6 balls.

India ended their inning with a huge score of 539 but their lead wasn't as big and was only 390 runs. Pakistan now had 1 day, 1 session and 30 minutes to get to their target.

superb presention bhai
yeaaa "toe crusher" umar gul and "boom boom" shahid afridi got wickets. Pakistan pace looks weak for this test, but I guess the spinning looks good.
Best part is that AFridi is playinn

nice nice keep it up

pakistan have a lot of depth in their batting but im not sure its gonna be enough. great presentation kutgw

This si going to be a brilliant final day. Pakistan can chase down the runs and India can get 10 wickets, so it is going to be close. Brilliant batting by Laxman and Dravid and Gul really shone with the ball. Kumble and Harbhajan will be key for tomorrow on a worn pitch.

Excellent presentation Ramezz. Love the scorecards are your writing is top notch  Keep it up :thumbs

This chase will have some fun, both have the ball our theirs courts. Both have the chance to knock each other down. India will try to claim few wickets so that Pak will slow down or will give up under pressure. Similarly Pakistan will try to put india through pressure from the begining. As its last day, the advantage will be a liitle on India as they have some quality spinners. Afridi is going be a definate key player here but have to play with paitence. Great presentation Raamz :) this story is going great :happy

Pakistan were back on the field, but this time to bat and have an attempt at winning this test. Pakistan needed 390 to win and if the chase would be successful, it will be the 4th highest successful chase and highest chase by Pakistan.

Mohammed Hafeez and Shahid Afridi opened the inning for Pakistan, but Hafeez did not last long. He was caught by Dravid off Zaheer Khan for 20 off 25 balls. Younis Khan came in to replace Hafeez at the crease.

Younis Khan and Shahid Afridi got a partnership of 52 runs before Younis Khan was caught behind off Harbajhan Singh for 25 off 40. Fawad Alam came in to bat next, but did not last long. He was caught and bowled by Harbajhan Singh after an 18 run partnerhip for 8 off 12 balls. Misbah-Ul-Haq came in next.

While wickets kept falling at one end, Shahid Afridi got his second 50 of the match off 68 balls.

Misbah-Ul-Haq was bowled soon by Harbajhan Singh for 23 off 38 balls. Umar Gul came in next as a night watchman, but didn't really do his job and was bowled by Kumble for 1 off 3 balls. Iftikhar Anjum was brought in next.

Day 4 ended with Pakistan at 160 for 5 and needed another 230 to win.

there is still plenty of time for pakistan to get these runs. All they need is a big partnership. Afridi is batting well but is running out of partners. kutgw mate

The last and 5th day started off with Pakistan needing 230 to win, and Pakistan lost Shahid Afridi soon on day 5. Shahid Afridi was caught by Sehwag and bowled by Zheer Khan for 86 off 141 balls. Akbar-ur-rehman came in next.

Akbar-ur-Rehman didn't last long either. He was trapped LBW by Zaheer Khan for 0 off 4. The captain Shoaib Malik came in next to bat and got a good partnership going on with Iftikhar Anjum, but Anjum was dismissed for a good 40 off 96 balls. Kamran Akmal came in to bat next and Pakistan needed another 150 to win with 2 wickets in hand.

India took the new ball when Pakistan needed 119 to win. And Pakistan got into really deep trouble when Zaheer Khan got Shoaib Malik, got by Sehwag for 72 off 125. The last man, Sohail Khan came in next. And what a game this was. Zaheer Khan dismissed Sohail Khan on the very next ball for 0 and India had won by 84 runs and Zaheer Khan got another 5 wicket haul.
