I don't honestly see what the big issue is. If a player wants to vist such an establishment, and it doesn't affect his onfield performace. Same if he enjoys a few drinks, or smokes or "new millenium politically incorrect vice XYZ". It creates characters in the game, which adds alot of interest to the players.

And given the facts in this case, it seems like a lot of old hot air on behalf of the media.

Just out of interest, who is this "youth of today" and would they really be affected by this one incident in their otherwise busy and bustling lives?
 
I would think the youth of today would be the kids about 13 years old who are suspectible to this sort of stuff and if they think it's OK for their hero to do it, why shouldn't they

13 year old kids probably look at this stuff on the internet anyway.
