PCPL Player Averages

Ok I have tested and come up with the best averages for the PCPL. The 25 over competition will be thrilling if the test games are anything to go by

            Bat Ave    Bowl Ave
Pure Bat       65         99
Keeper         60         99
Bat A/R        55         35
Pure A/R       50         30
Bowl A/R       45         25
Pure Bowl      20         18

The International averages will depend on ability (tier). These will be discussed by me, Simon and Rhys!

So are McCullum and some other normal keeper the same thing as far as WK ability goes?

And also, I paid money for Chanderpaul. Is he now considered the same rating as everyone else? : - his rating is 65 as well, and McCullum (keeper) is 60!

Yes. Like I said, ability (i.e tier) will decide their averages. For example Warne will have a lower bowling average than Murali because of the tier difference.

I did the ratings for the international players based on the ratings used in the current cricsim set up (below):

Pure Bat: 55
Batting Allrounder: 45/45
Pure Allrounder: 30/30
Bowling Allrounder: 25/25
Pure Bowler: 15

They were weighted to ensure that international players who were costing money had a significant advantage over regular players. I think 65 and 60 are too high for regular players. What is the problem with using the existing ratings?

No it has been tested and will remain the same. It works perfectly for the sim and will mean realistic run rates. We do not want 25 over games in which team's average 120 odd on an excellent pitch...

Shane Bond (Bowl) - 4
Shane Warne (Bowl) - 4


2nd tier

Graeme Smith (Bat) - 85
Mohammad Yousuf (Bat) - 85
Shane Watson (Batting A/R) - 75 12
Andrew Flintoff (Bowling A/R) - 70 8
Andre Nel (Bowl) - 8
Muttiah Muralitharan (Bowl) - 8


3rd tier

Mike Hussey (Bat) - 75
Shiv Chanderpaul (Bat) - 75
Brendon Mccullum (WK) - 70
Jacob Oram (Bowling A/R) - 65 15
Chaminda Vaas (Bowl) - 12
Nathan Brackan (Bowl) - 12

Those bowling averages will need a tweak. Put each of them up 3, otherwise we will have the scores becoming a lot lower. Obviously adding 3 to the bowling averages will still mean that the international players are a lot better than normal members.

As in real life, the bat will beat the ball with it being only 25 overs.

Just to add so people are clear: The whole point of T20 (in this case 25/25) is for runs to be smashed. The averages do not reflect what will actually happen every game. The averages are to make sure the sim gets run rates right and realistic scores. In test games I had opening batsmen making ducks, even a first ball of the match duck!

The games will be great, I even had a tie game with two identical teams playing each other
