How much do the different pitch types affect the game?
I hardly notice any difference no matter which type i choose!

Ye, it says that in the manual, but I find it makes no difference. I was playing on a crumblin pitch (good for spinners), so I played 2 spinners and it was a waste of time.

Also, the commentators always say the pitch is great for batting even if its sticky.

When you're playing on a green wicket it move loads more off the seam than on a hard pitch, but as for spin, i've never really noticed because I don't bowl spin much.

What day were you on? On a dry or Crumbling wicket I notice a lot more turn for the spinners than other wickets.

By the 3rd-5th days with rough patches the ball turns a long way. On the later day dry pitches the bounce gets quite low, whilst on the crumbling wickets, it does what it feels like.

The spinners do however find it tough as knicks to the keeper, or takes at the close catching positions around the bat are all not in the game.

Green- Swing and seam for fats bowlers
Dusty-Batting paradice, spinners can be a problem later in the match where is rough
Hard- Batting paradice, If fast bowlers get the ball in the right area there is problems for the batsmen.
Crumbling- Good batting pitch, Spinners will get tones of turn form this
Damp- Batsmen will find it hard to score runs on this pitch, fast bolwers will love this pitch it has swing and seam movement.

Thanks for all the replies :)
I had a pretty good idea what all the different pitches could do from playing myself, but had not really seen much difference in BLIC for the different pitches, i play on test level usually, find batting very easy but bowling can get a bit dull so maybe if i can get the games to last a bit longer the pitches may start to make it a bit more interesting :)

If you are struggling with bowling, (Like me, I can't bowl even on village mode!) I tend to play on a stciky wicket because wickets seem come easier.
Hope this helps.

Batting at Test level has become easy and a little boring, Bowling is a frustration to me as i can stop teams from scoring virtually any runs but i find wickets hard to come by as they are playing so defensively.

i find bowling quite easy but slightle more difficult on crumbling pitches on test mode. I bowl the occassional yorker and sometime bowl it quite full and swinging back in to get the batsman lbw or bowled.
