nice day for us!!!! we are close to 400 mark!!!! its a good score on greeny wicket!!!
cheers!!!!

The day's play

The toss was won by Flower who on this lucious green wicket said "No doubt about we're gonna bowl."Pleavin was asked what would you have done?He replied "i think anyone who is not insane would bowl so that would mean Ricky please captain essex so we can have a bowl first."

The day got off to a bad start for the Planet Cricket team as waugh played on off Tudor's firey bowling. He got one to nip back at Waugh and he got an inside edge of his back foot cover drive down onto his middle stump.

Murphy and Pleavin got a good partnership together and looked to be settled at the crease.Murphy seemed to want to stay all day but got a thick edge of a defensive shot.the ball flew straight to Gully for a very easy catch for Napier and Planet Cricket were 60/2.

Next though came the partnership of the day between Pleavin and Surendar.Pleavin made 53* while surendar was on 26*.then came an interesting battle between Napier who wants to bowl tight and Surendar who was going after Gough and Tudor. The're partnership was at 85 when the teams headed into lunch.Pleavin was on 78* and Surendar 37*.When they came back out nobody really bowled well for Essex and Pleavin and Surendar could continue like they were all through the day.Surendar made 50.But then came a peice of magic from Napier.First he bowled a beauty to send Pleavin back to the pavilion after a fantastic knock of 86.Then Teague edged one behind for a golden duck and Napier had his second and was on a hattrick.Chapman the wicket keeper came in and survived the hattrick ball.but the second ball he faced he chiped it to a diving midwicket and napier had 3 in 4 balls.

But as things looked gloomy for the Assasins Hemlani and Surendar came together.they made a very good partnership of 50 with Hemlani getting about 90% of them.Hemlani made 50 off nearly as many balls and was going after the quick bowlers.Their partnership raced past 50 with when they had 107 partnership 59 of them were from Hemlani and 37 from Surendar. At Tea Surendar was on 90* and Hemlani 70*

When they came back out Hemlani only made 8 more before being caught by a piece of brilliance. He got a ball from Kaneria who had just been brought on that was a good length to drive.it spun and bounced and caught the outside edge of Hemlani's Ihsan Crown and Foster took a brilliant catch to his right.

Surendar carried on though through the nervous nineties and got his century off 168 balls with 8 fours and a six.At the start of the day someone needed to get a big score and this guy got it.It may not have been the best innings as Hemlani's innings probably was but he gritted it out and made sure of that century.

Lee looked strong but let one through the gate for a duck and Napier had his 4th of the day.Cricket60 just blocked, blocked and blocked again and him and Surendar looked very comfortable at the crease.

At the end of the day Surendar finished on 120 not out off 222 balls including 9 fours and 1 six.Down the other end Cricket60 made 17* off 68 balls with 2 fours.

Overall a very exciting first day here at the County Ground in Derby and the home team,Planet Cricket Assasins, definatley had the upper hand going into day 2.

Hemlani signs 3-season contract with Hero Honda
Young allround prodigy Nitesh Hemlani (aka Zorax) has signed a 3 season contract with bat manufacturers Hero Honda for a sum of $3,853,215.23 per season to use their bats, and ride on their bikes.
When asked to comment, he said: "It's about damn time they offered it to me. I had to turn down deals from RBK, MRF and even Pepsi who were planning to create a bat especially in my honour."

Zain Awan from dressing room:
" Congratulation to surrender who did not surrender against the opposition. And also to Pleavin and Hemlani for there outstanding shows with the batting. But other failed miseribly. There should be a player who will stand there all innings to support others. cough**Zain**cough "

due to constant questioning this thread has been stuck. this is mainly due to the positive responses that are coming in them and the number of story writers/supporters that are participating in posts and matches. not because it has been over 200 posts (please not for anyone else that the thread wont just be stuck just because youve got over 200 posts in your thread)
