Close enough to 400. Wow. Simply brilliant on a bowling friendly wicket against an attack consisting of two former England test players, an occasional New Zealand representative, and a top Paki leg-spinner. Great work Assassins. Now it's up to the bowlers to step up.

So far in the Essex innings nothing much has happened.Pleavin brought on Culli and williams to start but changed them after 12 overs had gone. Then the surprise came of waugh to come on as first change. He bowled tight and well and deserved more than what he got.Lee bowled with fire and pace but to no prevail.Essex are comfortable and Cook and Jefferson have built a solid partnership.

Essex Eagles 58/0
Jefferson 25*
Cook 15*

Culli 0/27
Williams 0/13
Waugh 0/10
Lee 0/8

they have got a gud start!!!!
a couple of quick wickets will bring us back to the game!!!!!
come on Lee.....and others!!!!

C'mon skip! Bring me on! :) I have a good away swinger, one that nips in, a slower one, and lets not forget - the ever lethal 'Slow bouncer' ;)

Be patient Zorax. Your time will come

Well in Hemlani's 2nd over he gets a wicket. In his first straight after Lunch he beat the edge twice but has found it this time and a easy catch at 3rd slip.He picked the man perfectly as with Hemlani coming around the wicket to Cook he only had 2 slips but Cook found him. They will look to press on now as A.Flower walks to the crease and is known to have very long innings.

Essex Eagles 58/1
Jefferson 25*
Cook 15
A.Flower 0*

Hemlani 1/0
Lee 0/8
Waugh 0/10
Williams 0/13
Culli 0/27
