Aussies declare their final eleven

On morning of 9th September in a press meeting Australia declared its final eleven for the first match against Pakistan. No surprise inclusion in the team as the only spinner in the team will be Brad Hogg with three seamers Mcgrath, Gillespie and Lee. Symonds will be the only specialist all rounder. Gillchrist and Hayden will open the inning while the middle order responsibility will depend on Martyn, Clarke and Katich. Here are the final eleven:
M Hayden
A Gillchrist (Wk)
R Ponting (C)
D Martyn
S Katich
M Clarke
A Symonds
B Hogg
B Lee
J Gillespie
G Mcgrath

Pakistan vs Australia is going to be great. I will bet for Pakistan here. India vs England will also be good. In this I will bet for India :D .

India missing out Kaif through injury (I swapped a few player's positions in my roster, maybe thts why he's missing out)

England 105/3 - 22 overs

Trescothick and Pietersen build solid platform

Kevin Pietersen cover drives Agarkar

Marcus Trescothick and Kevin Pietersen built a solid platform for England who were rocked early on by two quick wickets from the Indian seamers. First to go was Andrew Strauss who was out LBW to Ajit Agarkar in the second over of the innings. Agarkar pitched one up to which Strauss had no clue of and was plumb in front of his stumps.

Next to go was the captain, Vaughan who was cleaned up by Zaheer Khan. Khan who was making Vaughan shuffle across his stumps, finally bowled a fast full length delivery and Vaughan completely messed up to hear the death rattle behind him. He was gone for 1 and India made a great start!

Trescothick played some flamboyant shots on the course of his innings of 34. His strokeplay was delightful to watch. He scored shots all round his wicket and was particularly severe on Ajit Agarkar who strayed on the legs to Trescothick. A particular pull shot sped to the fence like a rocket completely destroying the confidence of the bowler!

Trescothick slams a pull through midwicket

Trescothick was gone at a crucial moment when he looked good for a big score! Ganguly made a positive decision by bringing in Agarkar for another spell and Agarkar almost immediately stuck, removing Trescothick for 34. Trescothick hit the ball to the boundary but the shot lacked power and was caught by Zaheer Khan at the boundary. Trescothick was so disappointed with himself that he flung his bat in the air! India got a breath back into the game and England are 105/3 from 22 overs at 5+ per over!

Australia vs Pakistan

57/2 after 10 overs

Pakistan won the toss and decided to bowl first. This I think was a very good decision because it wouldnt be an intelligent decision to expose his batting lineup against fast bowlers like Mcgrath, Gillespie and Lee on a pitch where the ball will seam early on.

Pakistani bowlers did not disappointed their Captain as Sami removedHayden and Ponting at only 14 on the board. Hayden failed to keep his promise of playing a big knock against Pakistan and was LBW on an inswinging yorker from Sami at 0. Ponting looked like he was giving catch practise to Abdul Razzaq at mid-wicket.

On the other end Gillchrist looked in great form and played some really good shots as he reached on 36 and Aussies go to 57 for 2 at the end of ten overs as they try to emerge from early blows. Shoib Akhtar was a complete disappointment as he gave runs at more then 6 per over while on the other end Sami showed how a seam bowler should bowl in these conditions.

Gillchrist looks solid

Australia 145/4 at the end of 24 overs

Gillchrist continues to play some good shots and reaches to his half century in just 45 deliveries. No bowler seems to cause any kind of trouble to Gillchrist. On the other end wickets continues to fall as Martyn gets out trying to hit a six over long off but gives a simple chance to Kaneria at Long-off for just 10 and Naved gets his first wicket in very first over. Shoaib Akhtar was the biggest disappointment today as he was completely directionless and wayward during his spell conceding 50 runs off just seven overs.

Wickets continues to fall at the other end as Naved gets his second wicket by getting Katich LBW for just 17. Gillchrist on the other end keeps on playing his shots to an impressive 74 not out. Right now Clarke is giving him good support at the other end with 24 not out and have shared the partnership of 33 runs. Some strange bowling combinations were used by Inzamam as he lets Shoaib his quota of ten overs in just 25 overs and still no sign of Kaneria and Razzaq. The match is evenly poised at the moment as Aussies are going at 6 rpo but they have lost 4 wickets. A quick wicket or two can put the pressure again on Aussies

nice pictures ashu2411

Aus vs Pak
Gillchrist will most probably hit a big century here. If aussies just try to play full 50 overs even without any hitting they will score a big total. Lots of worries for Pakistan here.

Ind vs Eng
Eng is looking solid with a good run rate. If England can post around 260 then I think this will be a very close match to see.

Can anyone tell me where I could find all the fixtures listed for Planetcricket Super Cup

Hampshire vs West Indies

Hampshire 19/2 after 6 overs

Hampshire won the toss and decided to bat first which was an obvious decision on a pitch of Lord's which seams for few initial overs but then becomes batsmen paradise. On the other hand Lara seamed happy with the decision as he shows full confidence in his great batting lineup. Hampshire will be hoping to post a big total on the board which will put west indies under some pressure.

Poor start for Hampshire as they lost both their openers with just 14 on the board. Bradshaw and Collymore both got a wicket each. J Adams edged an easy catch to Gayle at slips off Collymore on just two while M Brown was judged LBW for just 1. Now two of the best batsmen for Hampshire Katich and Pietersen are on the crease as West Indies create some initial pressure. Hamps are 19/2 after 6 overs.
