S Kumar reached his century off 103 balls – his second 50 coming from run a ball with no boundaries – having received a reprieve on 75 when he was dropped by Simmions on the mid-on boundary. He eventually got bowled to Rampaul when he was playing across the line. Chifundo lost nothing by comparison, moving to a 45-ball half-century, with seven fours, before being bowled by Rampaul again, finishing his spell of 3-49 in 10 overs.

West Indies lost two wickets in making 11 from their initial 10 overs of power play. Opener Chris Gayle had made only eight when he cut a simple catch to Chifundo at point off @Na Maloom Afraad M Khan. At the same score, The right-arm fast @greymatter776 Chelackal bowled Dr Smith for three.

And that became 46 for three when Samuels, on 17, was caught at cover by Agger from the bowling of @SamP Parkinson. Bravo had blazed his way to 46 from 63 balls, with three sparkling boundaries, before nibbling at a delivery to give Parkinson a routine catch off @AliB Bubere.

Pollard and Bravo looked to be mastering the bowling until both Bravo's got out as three wickets fell in spare of four overs.

Head Coach Graham Gooch said: "West Indies had the better of the first 10 overs in last game. But today we needed to get wickets upfront, which made a difference.

It was great batting by Sathish and Chifundo and then we came out and picked wickets up at regular times. Wes played it really well.
