I was wondering if the BLIC people could add a function to the game where it could automatically connect to the cricinfo website and update player stats by posting the values (technical software terminology)...i think this should make everyones life easier.....

Yeah that would be tres cool!!! An i think it wouldnt be impossible, although i rekon you would have to do it manually as in click a 'connect button!' but there 0.99% they will put this in!

If they did this, I'd prefer it if the stats came from Cricket Archive, as their database is much more comprehensive than Cricinfo.

I guess they can have a 'base' database which contains all real data and then a 'virtual' database for each user if they want to use statistics tracking. But the statistics update is definitely an idea. And since they're using Cricinfo anyway, it shouldn't be that much of a problem. All they would need is dynamic access to the Cricinfo databases.
