After Tea Pakistan need a few wickets to get back on top

The Final Session Of the First day and its greeted with a standing ovation as lara and Chanderpaul come out to bat again.

Not a great start to the session for pakistan and when the wicket of Lara fell it was with the score on 215. A wonderful partnership of 125 ended after lara went to A, well lets say uncertain...LBW decision for a well earnt 78. Beautifully Batted Brian

Next to go on 72 was Chanderpaul opening up after alra fell and adding a 42 run partnership in 6 overs before going in teh sam fashion as lara leaving the score on 257-5 and the game tightly
poised.

The Day came to an end with the score on 302 for 6. After Chanderpaul went Bravo cam in and added a quickfire 21 off 27 balls before going bowled by razzaq off a slower ball. In next was Omari Banks who only faced 5 balls and scored 5 runs.

So a great day of cricket i hope you are here tommorow.

I'll have a look for Jamba see if he's half decent.

Hmmm, I guess my tip would be use the conditions as much as you can. Oh and also what I did to win the 2nd Test was that I made New Zealand make a bad declaration. They declared too early with too little runs ahead!

Use this to devestating effect, its one of the few weapons you will have with the smaller nations.

vote for a player i shud interview and what questions shud be asked

You need to stop them scoring so they start to run out of time.

If you can get the run rate down to like 3 they will panic and try to slg, this can lead to wickets or and early declarations to try bowl you out.

Its worked for me many a time so try it if you ever get into trouble!

First Day Review

FIRST DAY REVIEW

Hello Ladies and Gentleman. The first day was a very good one to watch and we saw some great true West Indian batting from Lara and Chanderpaul. Gayle also started the day well with a classy 42. The Pakistan bowling was not quite up to standard and I think they are lucky to have the West Indians at 302-6 at the end of the first day. Khan a young man making his debut is currently on 35 not out and on your first day of test cricket it is great to see him come out and bat so confidently.

The pick of the bowlers was Saqlain Mustaq who bowled very well and deserved better figures than 2-76. So here are Brian Lara and Freddie Seccombe to have a few words about the first day.

Clive Lloyd- Brian winning the toss and choosing to bat what were the reasons behind you decision?
Brian Lara- Yea Clive obviously the pitch was a dream for batting and there was really only one option

Clive Lloyd- Yes I have to agree and where you happy with the overall play during the first day?
Brian Lara- To be honest I was not as happy as I may have been. Hinds and Sarwan would not have been happy with the way they batted. I have to say I no Sarwan is in good form and just had a tough innings it happens to all of us.

Clive Lloyd- What about Chris (Gayle) was he happy with his innings?

Brian Lara- Obviously he would have wanted to go on but all of us wanted hundreds on that pitch. Gayle was unlucky and got out to a very good delivery. Again im sure he will look to show his dominance in our side by scoring runs in the second innings.

Clive Lloyd- So the problem of the day in your eyes was the fact that no-one managed to score a century?

Brian Lara- Yes obviously a worry but a good 125 partnership between me and Chanderpaul and a quick fire 42 partnership in 6 or so overs (Khan and Chanderpaul) and 35 in 5 overs from Khan and Dwayne(Bravo

Clive Lloyd- Yes and onto Khan only having 3 first class games and he has been called up to the international side?

Brian Lara- Khan was very impressive and I have to give the credit to Freddie (Seccombe) for his decision to bring him on. A debut innings is always important and he looks like he has fitted in perfectly currently on 35 runs off 66 balls. He is a very nice man and at 24 I see him as the future of West Indian Cricket.

Freddie Seccombe- I haven’t had much to say but I am happy with the day. Bravo batted well and scored at a great pace 21 off 27. Lara and Chanderpaul showed that the West Indies have a solid middle order and Khan has showed the youth coming up in the West Indies at the moment. I spotted Khan playing in a park with 3rd grade standard bowlers hitting the ball all over the park. He was an obvious talent and has the ability to be the best in the world.

Good morning cricke tfans and today we are expecting to witness a marvelous days play the inspectors have been out and although there i a bit of dew on teh pitch play will be underway at the expected time. We all know how yesterday went and will hope from more of the sem. Good luck to Khan and Omari and the Pakistan fielders and bowlers. Thankyou and have a great day.

Pommie : Hello, and welcome to my short review of the first session. We saw a wonderful batting display from two young class West Indians and both reached deserving half centuries. The first was debutant and 24 yer old Imran Khan. Im sorry to say but we will not be able to show pictures of Imran as he does not wish tobe shown off in the papers. He will be in an interview with a member of the team after the test is over. So Omari, he played some wonderful shots and i ahve never rated this boy, he deffiantly proved me wrong this morning. 405-7 111 partnership from the youngsters and all i have to say is see you later stay tuned.
