Whenever it informs me that 'updates are ready to be installed', it looks as though it's going to finish installing them, gets near the end and then rolls it all back, giving a message that it's failed to install. Now, I've heard that having out of date Adobe software can lead to security risks (one of the updates mentions security as well), so can anyone help me sort this out? And while you're at it, why does a sodding PDF reader endanger your security? This problem is occuring on XP Sp3.

Thanks in advance for any help. :)

They only really matter if you are using the high end stuff in it, regarding e-forms and the like. I just don't have it on my system in the first place, Foxit Software - Foxit Reader 3.0 for Windows is like 2MB big and has handled any PDF I've used with it, at the minor cost of not having the browser integration (which I don't like anyway).

Otherwise, just download the whole thing from the Adobe site again and reinstall it.

Thanks WHM. I think I'll give it the sack, in that case. All I need is something to read PDFs with. Couldn't care less about the browser integration either!
