So you are saying that he kills his wife, thinks about what he has done which build the frustration more and decides to kill his son.
In a nutshell but its not that he thinks about what he's done, its more that the brain just blocks it out as it's unable to comprehend what's happened. Slowly the reality dawns and its almost a case of trying to right that wrong.
Its difficult to understand as it's unique to the person for a number of reasons but from reading some reports its seems that Benoit had started to suffer from symptoms of some form of mental illness - I guess that within in himself he felt that he was taking the correct course of action no matter how warped it seems to the rest of us.
