Okay. So Canada are done...

Brooklyn Anderson tried for a 50 and nearly got one. His anchor role has at least given Canada somethingish to bowl at.

Shannon was expensive but took wickets while Amit twirled away to good effect. Feel that will be a good tactic going forward. Only one maiden from the one serious bowler that we had...

Right. The chase.

Pujara with some economical figures. Reckon you’ve got a good chance of a win here - Ravi to be the hero!

15 overs gone. Lost Kragg but Joe and Ravi built until I accidentally pressed the run button when I didn't mean too. Ravi still there and doing a captain's job and Mushfiqur doing some work after his poor tournament.

So a good win for the Grubbers first up and as @Short Leg Cricket said Ravi was the hero with the bat getting things done and am happy to see Mahmadullah finally make some runs. As for the bowling Shannon claimed MotM but was expensive while everyone else kinda just dug in. Amit took three but may be under pressure...

Anyways before all that a look at the other two games that took place...

Oman slapped Papua New Guinea around Kaleemulha causing all sorts of problems and even though Bilal Khan got a bit of tap it didn't matter as Oman slow and steadied it to victory.

Meanwhile Hong beat the USA in a thriller where their 259 proved to be enough despite Xavier Marshall's sterling 134*. A difficult defeat for the USA to stomach there but Marshall can at least console himself with being the only centurion thus far.

A good start on the ole NRR for the Grubbers puts us top. Canada will need to bounce back hard with a tie but they won't be doing it next round...

Coz they get a rest day. UAE start their tournament off against PNG while one of the 100% records will go as Hong Kong take on Oman. The USA will try and bounce back from their disappointing defeat by taking on Ravi and the boys. If Marshall is in form he might take a liking to Shannon's bowling...

After 5

Early wickets in the bag but Monank and Aaron looking to do a classic dasher/blocker partnership...

Not looking good for the USA. Munank playing a pretty lone hand but then Rikki Clarke managed to get him caught and bowled after he made his fifty. Mishra also grabbed a wicket and a stupid run-out means it's looking pretty grim...

Oh dear...

On the plus side they batted their 20 overs. On the down side it was a 50 over game. An absolute procession...

Wickets all around. Shannon got the centurion from the last match early, Coverton helped knock off the top order, Mishra kept it tight and took wickets while Rikki came to the party and removed the top order before detonating the tail. Good work. Surely even Glasgow can't fearsome tweak this up...

Let's see how the other games went on in Round 2...

UAE start their tournament with a win as PNG suffer a second straight defeat. A fiarly comfortable win for the Emirates with Zahoor Khan doing the business with the ball and Shabber and Anwar doing most of the heavy lifting with the bat. PNG got a job on now to qualify.

In the battle of the two sides who won their opening games Hong Kong laid down a massive marker by keeping Oman to just over 200 and then romping home with over 15 overs to spare and one wicket down. Karpe becomes the second centurion and helps his team make a serious early claim for the title. Oman will need to go back to the drawing board especially with their bowlers.

Grubbers have a very nice NRR already and are joined on 14 points by Hong Kong. UAE step right into the top four with their first win and Oman remain in the qualification zone for now. USA and PNG have had a difficult start and Canada will be targeting both when they return to action.

Canada get a chance for redemption in what you feel is a must win game for both sides. UAE face a difficult second assignment against the impressive looking Hong Kong while Oman will be looking to bounce back against us. Unfortunately for them we've looked pretty formidable so far...
