Reinstalling Ashes 09 help

i hope someone can answer this for me, ive already kept a async32.big as a backup because i have all my kits and patches on there, ive re-installed ashes 09 with the beta patches can i just overwrite the async32.big in the installation directory with the one i have backed up? so i don't loose all the patches?
