I used to always say Tendulkar between 1990-2002 was his ultimate best, especially given how he struggled in the middle of this decade with his tennis-elbow woes.

But god damnnn, his recent batting i'm having a serious rethink if at this advanced age whether Tendy of the 90s is back.

SA really have struggled this past year, Steyn in particular gets hammered a lot, then bowls amazingly, pretty hot and cold stuff. If he doesnt fire then SA look very ordinary indeed, which is how its been since they beat Aus in Dec 08.

Yea, the thing with Steyn is that he is like Waqar Younis between 90-94 - just all out attack, not ecomical at all in tests. Thats why in ODI's he will always be expensive.

Few bowlers in test history have been able to bowl like how Steyn & be successful for a long period. So it will be interesitng to see how he is bowling in few years when his pace declines.


Overall though i think the Saffies have been fine in the past year, they have been a bit inconsistent, but i dont think its a worry for them yet though.

I think that Sachin has reached his ultimate best now.
How I can say:
It is here
200 runs off just 147 balls.(SR-136.05)
118 runs coming from boundaries and sixes.( 25 fours and 3 sixes)
completed his second century in just 57 balls( highest in India ). ( SR- 175.43)
his 5th number of 150.( highest by any player ever)
of which 3 has come from last 20 ODIs.

What can you say now?
