I guess its time review the season. I'll do mine in a couple of hours.

For me,the best goal keeper has been Vorm, what a talent he has been.

For me,the best goal keeper has been Vorm, what a talent he has been.

A lot of great goalkeepers have emerged this season, and shown true class, a lot more than last season.

Vorm, Krul, Szczesny, De Gea, Al-Habsi, also Hennessy, Ruddy and Foster to an extent. Other than Chelsea and some others most of the great goalkeepers this season have been relatively unproven at this level, but have stepped up and been match-winners.

Yes.
But in my opinion Vorm is the best goal keeper this season.
The most improved defender should be cahill and koscielny and walker.
Mid-fielder:Parker,Song,Mata,Valencia and walcott[according to me only it has been this season that he has shown his pace]
Forwards-Demba Cisse,Ba.[I can't remember more of 'em]

I think Walker deserves it to be honest. Not because he's the best defender. People don't sometimes realise that for about half our season, he wasn't just our right back, but our entire right hand side of the pitch, guy must be bloody knackered! Love to know how much ground he covered whilst sprinting :p

In the middle though I'd suggest one of the Swansea defenders has been up there, just look at their record for a promoted team, I wonder if they've conceded the least goals by a promoted team in recent years? Wouldn't be surprised if it's close. That said, hard to look past Kompany as captain and leader of a title winning side.

In midfield again Silva was excellent for 2/3rds of the season, Valencia was pretty much Man U's most dangerous player, excellent player now. Has to be one of the best natural wide midfielders in the game. Proper old school nature to him as well. Go around your man, whip it in with pace. Really like him. That all said, one of the Swansea central midfielders again must be close. But I'd be inclined to say my two midfielders of the season.... Muamba and Petrov! Get well soon guys :)

Up front, can't really ignore the one man team RVP :)

----------

Also in defence, Colocini has been immense for Newcastle, really adapted now and looks at least a little like the player that was so highly rated a few years back. Also Krul in goal has been a key factor in Newcastle finishing 5th.

To add a quick little zero's of the season...

Dalgish for his appalling handling of the Suarez affair, and all around scummyness. Liked him last year when he first took over and seemed fairly pragmatic, but this year he turned into a complete sanctimonious self-indulgent, easily loathable slimey old man.

Suarez himself for obvious reasons.

Barton has again soured his name (is that possible? Does off milk going more off really matter? )

John Terry - For many reasons again, and I'm not even including the Ferdinand incident because a court of law can decide that.

Hmm... Venky's Chicken and their Kean puppet. Sort of like if Venky's were Jabba the Hut, then Kean would be the little screetchy thing it keeps on a chain (not Leia) :p

In fact mentioning the Princess it occurs to me, one special award -

Physio of the year - The Chelsea bird... (Yes I know the Tottenham medical staff deserve a lot of praise, but if this is a fictional award show in my head, she gets the invitation) :p

Be interesting actually to put together a most underperforming/dissapointing/all around crap XI :)

So you'd have Dalgish as manager (maybe Kean as assistant and he'd somehow get Dalgish sacked at the start and replace him :p )

Then in goal... Fulop? Worst debut ever haha

At the back... hmm... Terry would have to be in there for a being a douche. Will suggest some more, but suggestions welcome in the meantime. Jenkinson at Arsenal seems pretty average.

Downing in midfield. Those numbers tell their own story haha. Drenthe? Started well, then fell out with the manager and didn't play again? Barton? Had a really average season on the pitch, and then compounded it by getting banned for 10 games at the end.

aaand go :)

For someone who played just six games I think it was for Charlton, Jenkinson had an outstanding season, and could've stepped up if he didn't get injured.

Diaby should be there. Good player, and would be great if he developed properly without injuries, but he just sits on the sidelines taking up space in your treatment room and taking wages too high for his level of input to the team.

Drenthe is a bit of a joke, but awesome dribbling:D.

Mertesacker was all right, but even if the pitch is crap, injuring yourself for three months with no-one even close to you is a bit sad.

I didn't see much of him, just his first 2/3 games and he was woeful and seemed massively overpriced, young though (Jenkinson this is).

You should put Torres, although his late form may make his exclusion.

Adam, Smalling are two players who come to my mind.

Torres of course. 50m doesn't get saved by some late "form." Adam is definitely a potential, really been average this year. Maybe harsh on Smalling considering his age and that he was specifically signed as potential and has gone on to play for Enland and for United at both right back and centre back.

Smalling has been good in the past, very good. He's just hit a patch of roughish form. Nothing in comparison to a Torres or Diaby.

My team of the season:

Krul
Walker - Coloccini - Kompany (c) - Assou Ekotto
Silva - Carrick - Toure - Dempsey
RVP - Aguero

Subs:
De Gea (so many keepers to choose from)
Evans
Koscielny
Bale
Ramires
Valencia
Cisse

Probably missed out some obvious choices. Also the likes of Jelavic, Sigurdsson and Scholes deserve a mention for being stand out players in the 2nd half of the season. If Utd had won the league, Scholes would have been in my team of the season undoubtedly.

My European XI:

Buffon

Piszczek Kompany Hummels Chiellini

Xavi Pirlo

Messi ?zil Ronaldo

RvP

I'd maybe suggest that Vorm or Ruddy gets in ahead of De Gea, as despite being absolute class once he settled, he did still effectively cost Man U a lot of points early on (fairly important in the long run as well, hell considering Joe Hart was vital for City and they won the league, it says it all and Hart would have to get in ahead of De Gea).

Back four's alright, although Benny has actually been cack since February. Not sure a single cross has found its target, and he keeps getting caught out of position/getting caught in possession being lazy again. Not sure, maybe Baines at Everton has been very solid all year.

Also, maybe Carrick for Cabaye considering he has run the Newcastle midfield in spite of Tiote going off the boil a bit. With Cisse as well, also only there for half a season, but what a half, so yeah, why not :p
