I've never been so proud to be Welsh since we won the whole thing back in 2005. James Hook was immense today.

I do agree full on with Colin though; it was a spirited Welsh performance but our comeback was made easy by some sloppy. sloppy work. On a positive note for England, I think big Leslie did well. I've seen him set up tries like that time and time again for Bradford.

well i was trying to avoid posting anything about yesterday but im going to have to.

pathetic

absolutly pathetic

im not to upset about the defeat, its the manner of the defeat, as we beat ourselves, im not taking anything away from wales, they jumped on any chance they got and Hook played fantastic, his kicking was wonderful, but at half time england has been much the better side, by quite a distance TBH, but they had 3 great chances for a second try in the first half, which would of killed the game and they didnt take them which ment at the start of the second half wales were still in the game, and in international rugby, if you perform like england did in the second half, against a good, hard working and disaplined wales team you are going to get beat!

in the past few years since we won the world cup i have watched some depressing defeats, but i have been able to take take them on the chin as when you get beaten by a better side then fair enougth and you cant complain, but i still feel that england are a better side than wales, and were very comfortable in the game, but then they seemed to get scared of the ball on no one wanted it, a total lack of leadership and cohesion between the players, i mean Andrew Sheridan having to pick up the ball and play like a scum half.
i honestly think that my school team would of out scored england in that second half, and the performance simple wasnt acceptable

lol England were rubbish. Teach Ashton for only playing one player from the greatest rugby team in England.

SIX NATIONS ROUND ONE:

Ireland 16 (10) - (3) 11 Italy
England 19 (16) - (6) 26 Wales
Scotland 6 (6) - (17) 27 France

CURRENT TABLE:

1. France 2pts +21
2. Wales 2pts +7
3. Ireland 2pts +5
4. Italy 0pts -5
5. England 0pts -7
6. Scotland 0pts -21

So, as the night closes in on the first weekend of the 2008 RBS Six Nations, we have seen a quite dull, but tense match at Croke Park, an amazing comeback by the Welsh Dragons (Ospreys) at Twickenham for their first win in England (apart from Wembley '99) since 1988 and a new-look France ease past an incredibly poor Scotland up in Edinburgh. Warren Gatland, Marc Livremont and Nick Mallet get great starts coaching their respective teams, Frank Hadden faces a season of disappointment whilst Eddie O'Sullivan and Brian Ashton come under increasing pressure. Can next weekend provide as much excitement as the first. Another teams grand-slam hopes is definetly going to end next week as Ireland travel to Paris for their showdown with France. England face a tough trip to Rome after their diabolical showing in the second half against Wales whilst the Welsh return to an expectant Cardiff to play an apparently "lacking" Scotland, if today was anything to go by. However, whatever I may think will happen next weekend, is not guaranteed to happen at all - this is the wonder, and the mystery that bemuses us and keeps our eyes firmly glued to the rugby over the Spring. This years Six Nations is living up to its "close" expectations so far.

ROUND TWO FIXTURES

SAT 9 FEB
Wales V Scotland, Millenium Stadium in Cardiff: 1400 GMT
France V Ireland, Stade de France in Paris: 1600 GMT

SUN 10 FEB
Italy V England, Stadio Flamino in Rome: 1430 GMT

Does anyone dare make any predictions?

Nice :D

Wales 30 - 15 Scotland

Both teams never played very well, but Scotland never looked like scoring tries - whilst Wales looked like they could've scored more than the three that they did get.

I am currently watching France v Ireland. And I must say that Gallic flair is winning over Celtic graft!!

Could be a big loss for Ireland.

France 26 - 21 Ireland
Irish second half comeback almost matches Wales achievements at Twickenham, but not quite...

France 4pts +26
Wales 4pts +22
Ireland 2pts 0
Italy 0pts -5
England 0pts -7
Scotland 0pts -36

Italy 19 - 23 England
England labour to a victory over the Romans today, however, it was far from impressive and will need to improve by a lot - and I mean that, to have a chance in Paris on the 23rd February.

TABLE
France 4pts +26
Wales 4pts +22
Ireland 2pts 0
England 2pts -3
Italy 0pts -9
Scotland 0pts -36

Well, on the one hand we scored from all our chances and on the other we scored 23 points and nearly lost...

Considering we were 20-9 up. I am pretty dissapointed to only win 23-19.

Italy gave us a good ride. But, 2 points are valuable.
