Some suggestions for the downloads forum.

Memeber should not be allowed to open new download thread if last one does not have good history. That will solve your issues.

Hmmm. Not sure if that would work. Look at the story forum for instance. People might stop once and then have an amazing story second time around. I just think they should be closely moderated. Basically if you don't keep it active for say, 2 weeks, without a good reason, it get's closed

Thing with downlads and story is that it takes lot of time, skill and imagination. So you cant blame someone for missing two weeks at posting anything new.

My opinion here is simple, tougher moderation would do the job. If we can get slightly more dedicated mods for that section (I'm not saying our mods/admins aren't dedicated, just for that section as I mentioned and explained earlier) then we could crack down on a big load of plagirisim and we would be able to finger point out downloads which are being plagirised as we would be browsing that forum and it's threads day in day out.

But overall, I think to sort the problem monitored and tougher moderation is needed there like the good old days.

Totally agree with punk, i think he would make a good mod. (Not suggesting anything). We do need more dedicated mods and i like the way the download forum has now a WIP catogory.

I'm not pushing to become a mod that is the admins decision, I don't have a clean past so you know

But imo that is the way to go, if tougher mods are there then the laws will be laid down, if members are at least warned in the threads then the other members will know "Well, we know not to that that anymore", if you get my drift?

o'lol. Well lets forget about who should become a mod or whatever it isnt really that important. It would be good either way, but the main aim is to get the situation sorted imo.

I think it might be a matter of time until things are cleared up and we can have a respectable downloads forum, just might take a while though.

Do you mean "fixing" as getting people to brown nose somebody? If so I don't talk to MacWorld, I don't talk to anybody on PC, except for in a forum thread.
