If it had'nt been for the wierd face changes in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan teams etc I would have started the second match on FIVE star difficulty.:(

I've jus noticed that Pakistani Army isn't continuing his story due to unforeseeable events, does this now mean that I am leading the SOTM vote or not?

No, it's for being the best story last month. I don't think whether it stops now matters and doesn't affect the current standings.

Check out last month's SOTM. Suren's answer about F1 Man's Story should clear this up

I think I should append this rule in SOTM contest i guess,

  • During SOTM contest, if a writer discontinues the story which has been leading in the votes due to some issues ( unavoidable issues like hard disk failure, game crash, lost save file etc OR personal issues like loosing interest in that story, wanting to start a new one, the temporary break in stories etc etc ), then the winner would be the second leader in the same contest.
  • Because, there is no point in keeping the story stickied which is not going to be active. And, in-spite of all the efforts put up, discontinuing the story due to personal issues like loosing interest or wanting to start a new one, it fails to meet the writer's consistency .
  • What I would suggest to any story writer : PLEASE BE STRONG IN THE STORYLINE ON WHICH YOU ARE GOING TO TAKE THE STORY... ( used the caps because I want to stress that important point again and again). No point in making the short lived stories. It might loose member's interest in reading because of the inconsistency in continuing the story.

Tom's story which won the SOTY is one such example of having a very strong storyline and which attracted many many members.
