South Africa in England

If you drop someone, drop them for a season and evaluate from there. Yes, Prior has done well thus far, but let's see if the improvements are more long-term.

My predictions at the moment?

Tests: England 2 - 1 South Africa
ODI: South Africa to win the series by 2 games.
T20: England win :p

this series will be a true test of england's fast bowlers, bowling against the proteas will be a different ball game altogether.

When is this series starting?
God I didnt even know that RSA is gonna play
my seconf fav team

Yes, he is a good player. I'd certainly have him in the squads. No OT this year though. Headingley has been kinder for spinners of late.

Sidebottom, Broad, Panesar and Swann as a four man attack?

Quite well balanced, depth in batting too and good mobility in the field.

I don`t think ou can afford both Swann and Monty in the side.
You definitely will require the services of Anderson. The real test for Sidey begins now.
Most of his wickets have come against NZ and the West Indies. However well he might have bowled versus India, he did not have wickets to show for that. He did bowl well in SRL though.

S handled spin pretty OK in India. So having just Monty in the side should be enough.

the proteas are off to a great start in their 1st tour game.

If a test bowler gets injured, Jones has to play. 5 games, he's getting 4 and 5 wicket hauls, he averages 11 for 25 wickets, I don't know what more he needs to do to show us Simon Jones is back tbh. Tremlett is very nice and tall but he isn't Simon Jones.

Simon Jones > Chris Tremlett > Stuart Broad in terms of Test bowling.

england need simon jones if they seriously want to challenge the aussies for the ashes.

I'd love to see Simon Jones back in the England side. Can't see it happening until the winter tours though. If he did come into the side, I'd expect the out of form bowler to be Anderson.

Exactly what I was going to say. He may not have been fit all that long but he's bolwing at over 90 percent and we desperately need someone like him. Maybe perhaps even Harmison as well.

Flintoff, Jones, Harmison, Sidebottom, Panesar?

Of course, it won't look like this but I'd like to see it.

William, i like the cut of your jib Sonny. :hpraise

I'd love to see England take a wild punt and Pick Flintoff, Jones, Harmison and Panesar. Tough on Siddy i know, but theres no doubt that these guys are our best international bowlers.

Should be a very exciting series, however, I think Feddie should stay as a bowler.

He seems to have lost the batting skills.

England to shade the tests 2-1, South Africa to blitz us in the ODI series.

Harmison would not be an intelligent pick, he is not even taking consistent wickets for Durham.
