England squad for the 3rd Test.

Michael Vaughan, James Anderson, Gareth Batty, Mark Butcher, Glen Chapple, Andrew Flintoff, Ashley Giles, Stephen Harmison, Nasser Hussain, James Kirtley, Ed Smith, Alec Stewart, Marcus Trescothick

Gareth Batty, Glen Chapple, James Kirtley and Ed Smith have yet to play a Test. Batty and Kirtley have played ODI's.

And as some of you may know, I think it's about time Chapple got picked!
 
South Africa beat Kent in their latest tour match thanks to an excellent bowling performance by Paul Adams.

Result

South Africa 1st Innings: 325/4 declared (McKenzie 105 not out)
Kent 1st Innings: 235 all out
South Africa 2nd Innings: 243/7 declared
Kent 2nd Innings: 232 all out (Adams 9/79)

Adams 2nd Innings bowling figures of 9/79 are his best in first class cricket.
 
And there are two 'man of the matches'. Can anyone tell me if this is unprecedented?

In the 1st women's test match, England did a little better than the men's and Under 19 teams, as they didn't get defeated. The match did finish in a draw though.

South Africa 1st Innings: 316 all out
England 1st Innings: 497 all out (Taylor 177)
South Africa 2nd Innings: 285/8 declared

Match drawn

Taylor's 177 is the third highest score for England in women's Tests.

Johmari Logtenberg (who is just 14 years old), and van der Westhuizen added 138 for the fifth wicket in South Africa's 1st Innings, which is a new world record for women's Tests.

Only the Thursday because I'm off for a week on holiday on saturday. I'll be back in Edinburgh after that (I'm in London at the moment).
 
An England team actually managed to beat South Africa in the first women's ODI today.

Result

England: 273/8 (Edwards 64, Taylor 51, Fritz 4/36)
South Africa: 98 all out

England win by 175 runs.
 
The third test got underway today, with a good day for England.

And the second Under 19 test finished in a draw.
