My best wishes and all the good luck, to the likes of Prithvi Shaw, Shubman Gill, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Priyank Panchal.(:rolleyes

I think you're being a bit harsh on Rohit if this is a sarcastic post. I will again say, Rohit has all the necessary ingredients to succeed. Can he be a success story overseas? Time will tell. But, I will not begrudge him for it. So far, he has very much proven himself. I rate his batting in the first session against Rabada above any of his double tons in ODI's.

Indian fast bowling has been a joy to watch in the last 18 months. Shaun Pollock said something yesterday in commentary and even though I originally didn't agree with it, I kinda understand his point now. He said India should play Shami, Bumrah and Umesh when they are playing 3 fast bowlers in India. That is because of their ability to reverse the ball, how well they all can bowl with new ball and they can be skiddy which can be very challenging to face in India. The one part about this that concerns me is Umesh. He is someone who blows hot and cold and is not consistent enough that Ishant has shown he can be in the last 18 months. However, when Umesh is hot as we have seen in this test, he almost looks unplayable and that is on an Indian surface. When we go abroad, Ishant should play ahead of Umesh because we need control and someone who can generate some bounce on those surfaces.

Coming to the match, Indian fast bowlers have comfortably out-bowled South Africa's fast bowlers and that is now kind of becoming a trend. Whatever test series that we have lost in the last 18 months has been due to our batting and not bowling. Our bowlers have done well in South Africa, England, Australia, WI and now India. Rohit has done exceedingly well this series and has cemented his spot as an opener for probably two to three series. It will be interesting to see how India fits Hardik Pandya once he returns from the injury in the test line-up. Also good to see Rahane getting some runs and this century has probably been the best he has played in a while.

The pace bowling is what has kept me interested in this series. SA have no excuses for their performance here. They've lost to pace here.

I agree with others that this is Rohit's best innings so far given the quality of bowling and the match situation. Rahane has gradually looked like getting back to his best. Since the last two tests in England, he seems to have gradually got his act together and that makes this batting look formidable.

Talk about competition, this Proteas side have been massacred and humiliated. It was already on cards that India would have an upper hand on South Africa, but to this extent ? I mean this is pathetic performance from a team who nearly won everywhere in the last decade.

India on the other hand is performing insanely well courtesy Rohit Sharma the opener. This time Rohit has actually proved us wrong. We might be critical of the selectors and the management but they actually did well in preparing him well before he actually opened. Like behind the scenes he was actually being said 2 years prior to this series that he was going to open and he was made to prepare well before hand than just simply putting him at that spot.

Credit should equally go to the bowlers as well. They have bowled so well throughout. Umesh Yadav getting Du Plessis in the 1st innings of this Test was one of the highlights for me.

We just have to wait and see. The WTC has both home and away games against all the teams. India will play overseas soon.

Home dominance is not a key to Overseas success. It is definitely something that gives you confident as a side and do well everywhere in the world. It is not as easy to do that either. I think it's a process that takes longer than what we expect tbh. Having a balanced side and a strong bowling line-up alone doesn't guarantee you success. You need a stable side who have the experience to play in Overseas and is equally confident of their chances. If you want to win in SENA Countries you need to have a good opening pair and also need a couple of good batsmen in the middle order who understands the way they need to change their game as per conditions and situations. Also you need to have a good bunch of fast bowlers along with a spinner who can get you wickets irrespective of the conditions.

According to records India never had good overseas performance
Sometimes batting fails sometimes bowling and sometimes both
Actually thing is that in our region we are mainly expertise with spinners bat/bowl
but overseas its not.

We have the fast bowlers now to get wickets. We have reliable middle order batsman in Pujara, Kohli and Rahane. We have 2 very good all-rounders. If we find an opening pair we would definitely win in Overseas this time.
