South Africa vs Zimbabwe & Pakistan, October-November 2010/11

Well they did say this was a batting surface. What's surprising is how Pakistan's collapses seem to have disappeared during this crazy saga. Although might be speaking too early but so far so good.

They've done this before. Watch them collapse tomorrow and score less than 250.

Could go either way - on the one hand, they've got a good start, pitch is a belter, favourable conditions and the two batsmen at the crease seem set.

On the other hand, however, they are the pakistani batting line-up :p and they're going against steyn and co.

Hmm, just a thought to ponder upon: What if Umar Akmal didnt play the ODI series because there was also suspect on him?

Anyways havent watched a single bowl but plan to watch the highlights soon.

What's wrong with Misbah??????? He was such an awesome player but since 2009 it seems as if he can't middle anything with the bat.

Pakistan need to play India regularly to keep its player progressing and since cricketing ties between these two teams have been less so is the progress of young Pakistan batsman.

I've been impressed with Azhar Ali - it's not easy to do a Dravid impersonation on your first outing against the proteas.

Different story to the other young pakistani batsmen - umar akmal is a completely different player to the one we saw make his debut in new zealand this time last year. Once Younis and MoYo do properly leave, the batting line-up will be every bowler's dream.

Excellent bowling performance from m.morkel. In the past he has really struggled on these type of pitches but he has really lifted his game on this tour. Well done to botha as well.

Umpiring again a big let down. Again the decision not to have UDRS involved boggles the mind. We have 3 decision this test which would have easily been over turned.

Pakistan's largest succesful chase was 315 runs. With the current line up they aren't going to make history. I've got a feeling that South Africa will bat out two sessions. With a lead of a current 271 runs that could give them a lead of 450-500 runs after two sessions. That should be safe for at least a draw.

There were already signs of spin, so with Botha and Harris in the side it's going to make things easier for South Africa.

Another test loss looms for Pakistan. Watching the performance of Adnan Akmal behind and in front wickets has strengthened my initial doubts about akmals' role in the zulqarnain fiasco. Adnan Akaml's glove work was very weak as was his batting. Sarfraz Ahmed should have been the obvious choice.

7/72 is not exactly a string of partnerships.

I have a sneaky suspicion that they might be able to draw this - with both Azhar and YK hitting tons.
