I reckon a few things need to be outlined. At the end of the day if there name is not blue, green or red you don't need to worry about them being promoted. There is no authority there, they are just doing the crap job that none of the staff want to do.

Secondly, Jack is true. There is a huge problem with Asians in the story forum. Back in the old days there was a good balance from all over the globe and we actually had Asian members in this part of the forum with a good grasp of English. Now though, a lot of the more..............suspect members............have come here from the 07 Downloads and Cricket Leagues forum and have frankly ruined ths forum and I wish they would go back to those silly forums. They are like a plague of locusts ruining every part of the forum they go to with their stupid posts and immaturity.

They have no concept of grammar or infact how to keep to a basic written plot. They just stick with their Asian mates stories which are abysmal and make no sense, as if I can't understand their English when it is my first language I sure as hell doubt they can.

To solve this I'm not too sure. I personally would be up for far stricter moderation regarding comments in this part of the forum as to who does that......? However, I have been at this forum for a long time and frankly I have never seen this particular section of it in such a mess. It is pretty sad considering it did use to be one of the best parts of PC.

This part of the forum alone is what got me to sign up for PC, it's a shame it's deteriorated in quality. I don't really want to start a race war but I kind of agree with you on the Asians spawning over from the downloads section and slightly ruining it. Don't get me wrong the majority of them are nice people and some of them do write decent stories and use good grammar such as User2010 who I'm beginning to like more and more. But yeah some need to try and branch out and explore other stories that aren't made by their friends or just GTFO and go back to the downloads section!

I don't really understand the problem. If a story is crap then don't read it and don't post it in. Surely there's natural selection going on regardless of how good/bad other people's stories are.
I agree we don't want "Indian" stories and "whitey" stories but there are plenty of great story writers from both "camps" so just appreciate the good stories and ignore the bad ones.

The trouble is that the 'crap' stories are getting all the comments and the 'good' stories are getting none. The stories forum has literally become a division between many Asian members and others. Obviously this does not apply to all, but it is certainly the case for most.

I had started 2-3 stories earlire and i realised that i can't go ahead with them as i don't have basic idea regarding graphics, and storyline. So i stopped them and never started. My poor grammar also forced me to stop them.

I think it has to really go down to the modding.
The three story mods (surendar, King Cricket, Pakistani Army) are all extremely inactive in this section.
I know KC is active in other sections, but not in the story part.
Because there is no one modding any of the threads, people are able to create rubbish threads, and then this leads to the same person starting 2 - 3 stories in one month, and not finishing any of them.
Instead of having these three inactive mods, I would maybe re-vamp it to getting a couple of new ones (maybe one asian and one non-asian).
Then a re-vamp of the rules is needed, or maybe just someone to mod them, as they are broken often, but don't even get patrolled.

The reason I joined PC was due to the story part, but I have now stopped my story due to lack of time, and I don't often comment on stories now due to the lack of quality in them.

1) Some threads which is not even worth considering as 50% effort stories getting more replies?

It seems we do have pulled readers - from C07 forums or league forums or msn tricks. I honestly hate such things & never encouraged it. I do get many VMs suggesting me to read the stories, but I never did that. Still, I used to read almost all the stories here.

2) League members starting stories?

Well, let them start. We do have rules that,

a) If it's going to be run in League format, it is going to be in Cricket Leagues section.
b) Not more than 2 stories should be started without notice.
c) Not more than 1 league per member in cricket leagues still.

I honestly accept that I didn't/don't have time to sit in front of net & browse peacefully & moderate the forums. I am kicking myself for the success in my real career for which, I need to sacrifice all my personal luxury times.

3) Commitment of the writers?

This should be questioned to all the writers including me. It's writers' responsibility to attract the readers naturally. Just because members come and comment on request, that story can never be a good one. The members should be attracted to the stories not pulled/forced.

4) English is horrible among Asian members?

Well, consider their age group as well. Here, young people get little exposure in speaking basic English without hiccups though it's an international language. There are some members who still take the advices given by us & continue to improve the language.

So what's harm in helping them? If members(writers) are reluctant to take the advices, ignore their stories after couple of chances. If members(writers) are taking others' advices, we should be in the position to help them. But if members(readers) are reluctant in helping, then there is no point in the moan.

Well said mate. Some members who were spamming cricket'07 forum have now started spamming this forum as well. There are few members who get one day ban but when they come back after their ban there is no improvement in their behavior. When i started my 1st story i did forced some of my friends to read my stories but after sometime i realized that their is no need to pm anyone and say to read my story if they really feel my story is good they would surely read it. There are few very good stories running these days but they don't get comments,they deserve i don't know why. Maybe because they don't pm any one to read their stories and that's a good thing. Rather than concentrating in getting comments you should concentrate in improving your writing skills and small grammar mistakes.

I too do many grammar mistakes in my stories but i am quite fortunate that some members here point it out and help me to improve it. But some members here get comments to improve their story but they don't bother about it. The main things which i mainly see in few story writers here is they write story for winning "SOTM" which is really sad. Once they participate in SOTM and are not able to win it they stop their story because they thing that now there is no need to continue their story.

As i mentioned in my earlier post Surendar is a great example for us to see how a story can run for a long time. He never writes story for winning "SOTM" he writes stories for members enjoyment and his own enjoyment. As far as Surendar job is concern we all understand that how busy he is. After all he needs to be something in his life but surely when he gets time he comes online on pc and does his moderating job very well.
