Has anyone else been struggling trying to get the right footwork when playing a shot? The best i can manage is okay with the occasional good.

Can anybody offer me any tips? I play on pro with medium/medium. Thanks guys.

The concept is simple get the foot towards the ball and play the shot.. Simply start by keeping both foot and shot movement in same angle.. Slowly you will get the hang of it..

Then for to angle the shot like hitting a middle stump delivery towards cover you have to aim the foot and shot in different direction like foot should be 10'o clock and shot should be 2'o clock..

So it's basically having the flow going, the feel you get playing a shot..Which IMO the timing feedback can never replicate.. Though if you are new to the sport its a good thing to have..

Yeah indeed: best advice: turn off the feedback and plant your foot towards the pitch of the ball! Play in the V (The are between mid on and mid off either side of the stumps at the bowlers end) until you get the hang of it.....go in the nets and practice placing the foot at the right moment. I am generally known as a terrible batsman in the game but have slowly mastered things and play relatively comfortably on the hardest batting level with tweaked sliders and no huds.

Thanks guys! Actually come to think of it I have hit a couple of fours even when the timing indicator has said 'ok' or worse. I think I will give it a go with it turned off.

Just another reason i really enjoy the game but, i feel its so much harder then previous. I was playing a test last night and batting really required me to concentrate.

The one thing I battle with is the foot placement. I either just go straight up or straight down which results in a few edges.

For wider deliveries try to move the footwork stick (LS) to 1'o clock (if delivery way outside off) or 11'o clock (if delivery outside leg) for a right hander. Similarly play with LS at 5'o clock or 7'o clock for backfoot. LS straight up or down works well if the delivery is on the stumps or just outsid ethe stumps. If the delivery is pitched some way outside the the stumps, your footwork needs to account for it else you will end up missing the delivery or hit a mistimed shot.

Another thing I've noticed to is how much more influence the confidence bar has when batting. I feel like I really have to work hard and get that bar green before my shots start flowing nicely. I made my first 50 by just being patient and seeing out the first 15-20 balls till the confidence went up.

All in all really loving this game atm!

Question : Do you have to time the footwork as well or just time the actual stroke? I just pick my footwork as soon as I see the ball indicator and then try to time my stroke.

I think only batting timing is relevant to shot timing whereas foot placement relevant for footwork.

If you're not careful, it's easy to move the left and right stick at the same time. You want to move the start moving the left stick before moving the right stick, so that you're feet are in the right position when you make the shot.

Quite new to this game but i've had to switch to the basic controls for batting because I keep accidentally pushing down on the footwork stick and leaving balls that I want to play at :facepalm

You could change footwork to "No" under gameplay modifiers..

Ah! Didn't realise that, I'll change the button to X in that case, I do want to factor footwork in for realism etc

Thanks :thumbs
