Hi guys, im gutted the SA v SL game ended due to the heavens opening up..after todays games the super six is nearly sorted...here's how it looks right now...just hold on all you england/pakistan/zimbabwe fans! :P If Australia win one game they are through to semis...the rest need two wins...except england and NZ who will need to win all three to progress...the biggest game will be New Zealand v England..whoever loses will be out...its a real 8 pointer!

Australia 12pts
Kenya 10pts (1 game pending v West Indies)
India 8pts
Sri Lanka 7.5pts
--------semi-final split-------
New Zealand 3pts
England 3pts
-----still contending---------
Zimbabwe 6pts (1 game pending v Pakistan)
Pakistan 2pts (1 game pending v Zimbabwe)

Q: how does the super six work?

A: Put simply teams carry forward points from the first group phase in the following ways:

1) 4 points awarded for wins over fellow super six quallifiers
2) 1 point awarded for wins over teams who did not qualify
3) half a point for tied or NR games (i.e SA v SL)

each team will play three games in the super six stage against the teams who quallified from the "other" group..i.e teams they've yet to play, the top four progress to the semi-finals. The first place team will play the 4th place team and 2nd will play the 3rd...should any teams be level points the following factors apply (in order):

1) the result between the two teams - if it was a tie, the higher net run rate side progresses
2) if more than two teams are level, the higher net run rate
side(s) progress.
3) In the unlikely event of still being even, lots are drawn.
