Funny that I watched this video a week ago and this thread comes up for discussion. I cannot agree more on what Harsha said here. His "alternate source of income" is spot on.


12:46 is the precise point.

Arguably, T20 is probably what might help keeping the Test format alive. The format is still okay at the moment but I do believe it's on the wane. Unfortunate, but a reality.

In our first home Test ten years ago, we played Ed Cowan, Rob Quiney, and Ben Hilfenhaus.

Even with Warner being Warner, we're kinda improved.
On top of that Dohery, North & Beer were our lead spinners once upon a time! Stuff of NIGHTMARES!

I wouldn't say "lead", if anyone of the single-digit-games guys we tried between Warne and Lyon was the lead Test guy I'd say it was Nathan Hauritz (and I'd also say it should have been Jason Krejza).

Here's another name or two we tried then: Beau Casson and Bryce McGain
