Susan Boyle

Hasn't she already been offered loads of things; like a contract on a T.V. show opposite Roger Lloyd Pack?

Really? Good for her! As long as she just wants to be a singer; it's far too late for her to break into musicals, it just doesn't happen.

she is annoying because people are going mental as if it's amazing that someone who isn't pretty can do something. People would have a go at me if I liked a singer because she was fit well this is just the same.

But it would've been exactly the same if she was a young, gorgeous 24 year old blonde, the only difference would be a better overall package, and a surefire glittering career ahead of her. She didn't just 'do something', she has a legitimately amazing voice, West End quality easily (and that's miles above the quality in the pop world).

As it is though, I just don't see how she'll fit in, her look will count against her in a big way. She might be a novelty for a while, a bit like Michelle McManus (I think that's who it was). She released an X-Factor winner's song, and then not a great deal else.

That's not fair, but that's how this business is, you need to fit into a particular 'type' to have the best chance of success and then know how to exploit that. Even if it means playing to something about yourself that you don't like.

It wouldn't have been the same if she was a young gorgeous blonde. People would expect her to be good, most of the press is because she's different. Just saying it's totally gay, so what if a person who isn't fit can sing? I don't care, if it amazes 100 million people fine but I think that they're all a bunch of goons.

amd Michelle McManus is making a comeback thank you.

You do know who it is really is under that wig, don't you Joe?:D

You've got PM fella.

you haven't actually of course but I do fancy a chinwag and my computers has no MSN still.

It was a good WUM but he gave it away with the lack of change with the name, the manly look and the brilliant singing ability. It's not really fair that some one can go on these shows after practising singing and making up songs each week is it?

Message for Boylie.

I can't see it lasting. She didn't hang around long first time round, can't see anything being that different this time.

I haven't got a problem with fit looking girls who also have amazing voices (far from it), but the business is saturated with amazing looking girls who have extremely average voices and the business shouldn't just be about looks, but of course that makes up a large part of it, in singing at least, and especially as far as girls are concerned. I just don't like the fact that someone can be rubbish, but because they look good, they can really coin it in.

Acting is very different, because actors come in all shapes and sizes for the simple reason that real people come in all shapes and sizes. It's the shows that try to fill their cast with 'beautiful people' that are usually the most badly acted, I find.
