Dissapointing, i'm a huge test fan myself.

In cricket games I play about 10 tests to 1 One-Dayer, so this is really bad, and no "leave-ball" button? What the hell? You cant play at every ball in a Test Match.

Not just play at it. Attack it!

Just some proof that the AI does play defensive shots sometimes. This is Canada AI against me playing as England.

There has never been any real evidence that the game was going to be good.

Everyone has just assumed it would be brilliant, but really, planetcricket's expereince at the Open Days as well as the early reviews and then the demo should all of combined to set alarm bells ringing.

But unfortunetly people have gone out and wasted their money. And codemasters are smirking cos they have got everyone's money now. And the cycle continues. Games are hyped up, people buy it, game is crap, people hype up the next game...

People have to be more critical of early developments and actually trust some reviews.

Planetcricket: Next time you do get a chnace to playtest a game, ensure that you are ready. Take a list of aspects you want to test, query the developers on these aspects and then report back rather than just blindly turn up.

We can save people money and pain....

I'm not sure what's more worrying. That I believed all the stuff they spouted at the open day, or that they believed it...

or that the just didnt have a clue, didnt care or just had smoked to much wacky weed that day.

We suggested so many things there that Adam, the designer, scribbled down on his notepad. We asked lots of questios about various gameplay aspects. Unfortunately, either the guy was lying to us deliberately, or something held them up in development and some features couldn't be implemented.

Examples:

We asked if bowlers would bowl stupidly long opening spells - we were told that they wouldn't, but they do.
We aked if the AI captain would react to where runs were being scored - we were told yes, but it hardly happens.
We said that leaving the ball shouldn't result in a drop of batsman's confidence - Adam said that was fixed, but it wasn't.

There are many other examples, but it's getting boring now.

If you want to complain about us "blindly turning up", you should ensure we did blindly turn up, or you will make yourself look like an idiot, like you have now.

A few thoughts, luckily I haven't gone out and bought this rubbish. But I an disappointed as I was looking forward to buying and playing it. Every now and again snippets of information would come out which dampened my enthusiasm for this game. Lack of options and editing was a major concern, look at PES, loads of options and editing, that's half the fun of that game.
Regarding Test matches, that's all I almost ever play since I bought BLIC 05, and while not perfect, I enjoy playing them and will continue to do so. With BLIC 07 having the ICC licence for WCup and CTrophy, it sounds as though they haven't been too bothered about Test matches, and are just extended One Dayers,Shame!
Let's hope that they actually listen AND Test the next game extensively, they surely can't afford another game like this, but have they lost our trust?

Just as a footnote, in my test match Eng v NZ Flintoff bowled for 26 overs unchanged (through my entire innings in fact!).
