You guys are nuts, Im usually so hung over after thanksgiving I don't wake up till 1pm.
I went once to a black friday when my mom dragged me in 9th grade. never again! I remember a few years ago someone got trampled to death! People become animals when they see those prices :laugh
BTW, remote desktop is pretty sweet on the iPad. There's a vid somewhere on youtube - there's your full OSX/7 on the iPad... and Mark, that means portable cricket
so i could put windows on an ipad and then stream flash cricket eh, im sure there is some other device that is significantly cheaper and lets you access a full browser and wifi
You can't 'put' windows on it but you can remotely access your main computer, basically like you are actually in front of it there. And with it you get the full browser and cricket streaming. Just like whatever you have on your main machine.
There's the hp slate, but it is $529. That actually has windows 7 running on it. Looks pretty cool actually but does seem to be significantly bulkier.
iPad has wifi.
It'll work on the iPod touch/iPhone but obviously won't look good at all, due to the small screen.
That remote desktop app actually looks pretty nifty. Is it part of the core applications? At the same time, that video demonstrates how difficult it's going to be to use for any sort of real work (he had such a hard time just closing a window!).
Yeah I've come across that as well. Its quite ridiculous.
People still think there's nothing out there to compete with the iPhone either when in reality the Droid is a GREAT alternative if you don't wanna be stuck with the iPhone's crappy reception, AT&T's limited 3G network, a phone that you can hardly customize, nor replace batteries in, nor buy insurance on, etc. Oh and it'll be flash enabled soon enough and already has navigation that's better than most GPS devices out there. Love my phone so much.
There have been reports of iPad's shutting down when temperature crosses 35C. I believe this is not true, but if it is, its really a big slap in the face of Apple. 35C? Seriously?

No, it is a third party application. It's obviously not for any type of real work but I reckon it would be more than handy for viewing videos (flash) on the internet, accessing files for work, etc.
I tried a free app (remote desktop lite) on my first generation iPod touch. It actually worked pretty decently, was able to set it up quickly and it was running pretty well. however it sucked when viewing flash streams due to the slow refresh rate so that killed it for me.
That is hardly the explaination. All devices I have at home, including my phone, work perfectly well in Direct sunlight. 35C is lower than the ambient temperature around here in the summers, but you know that.
