The Barclays Premiership

30 years old for a defender isn't very old. it's a good signing from what I see. This guy is very experienced and is a steady performer. Could really help Birmingham push towards European football.

No idea why there are so many Americans coming to the Premier League though!

You could easily find a much younger, cheaper and efficient one elsewhere.

Matter of opinion Mani. You have no idea about how good this guy is as you've probably never seen him before, and you probably have never heard of him before.

Looking at his attributes on FM he looks a pretty decent player, one who I would say is wort hthe money Birmingham paid for him.

Lets just wait and see how well he does...

Yeh, no worries it's good to have a bit of a debate! By all means criticise all the players bought if you wish :p

Never heard of the American before but looks to be good one . Well 4.5m for a 30 yr old is kind of ok if he that good. But its goona be difficult to adjust for the 30yr old with the pace of the premier league.

I think that Spector will be great for Cardiff. To stay up they need to have a solid defence. Spector will play a crucial role in that.

Tottenham snap up another big signing
__________________________________________________

Tottenham have brought in another big money signing after signing Eddie Johnson and Andreas Beck on July 1. Javier García is the latest edition to the Tottenham side that finished fourth last season.

Javier García has made the move from Osasuna to the English capital at the age of just 22. The Spanish youngster has played seven times for the Spanish U21s and could well break into the national team if he performs well at Tottenham.

García has already played 154 games in just five seasons. Tottenham have paid an undisclosed fee for the defensive midfielder, but it is reported to be in the region of £11million.

Louis van Gaal told the press that García was one for the future, and that it would take time for him to settle in England. "Javi is a quality young player. I have seen him play a few times and he is definitely a future star. It will take him a little while to settle in England, so don't expect world class performances straight away. Give him time and he will entertain."

He's young. Played a lot of games, so has a lot of mental experience under his belt, I think he can make a major impact. He will need some pace to keep up with the Premiership game. If he has that he should have no problems at all. Good signing from Spurs.

Wow 11m for a talented player like him is less. He has good experience in La Liga and Spurs using their money very well. I say this the buy of the season so far. Spurs are surely the title contenders this season.

Derby County have signed Celtic's Mark Wilson for ?7.75million. Wilson is Derby's first big signing of the summer, and at ?7.75million they will hope Wilson will make a big impact at the club.

Mark Wilson had played at Dundee United for six seasons before joining Celtic in 2005. Wilson has played exactly 200 matches in his career, scoring eight goals in the process.

Last season Wilson really made a step up from previous season's, picking up four Man of the Match awards in only 23 matches.

Wilson told reporters that he looks forward to playing under Billy Davies. "I'm looking forward to my time here at Derby County. It's a big club and I want to help keep them in the Premier League. I am a big admirer of Billy Davies and so when he came offering a contract I was delighted. I have enjoyed my time at Celtic, but I'm happy to make the move to England."

This Wilson looks like a solid player. Someone a team like Derby need. He has experience at the best club in Scotland. He had a great last season. Should do well in the Premiership.
