The Barclays Premiership

Lol at Oasis at Old Trafford (sure only Jaz and I will understand the joke :p). Who is this Iorma at Man Utd? Jones is about to make a great signing if it goes through. Thaksin losing patience with Sven, needs to give him time to be honest.

Iriome is a 22 year old genius who is back in the reserves alongside Nani, van der Sar and Fraizer Campbell!

He looks pretty damn awesome to me. Was bought from Tenerife by Man Utd in 08 and was loaned out to Antwerp last season. Would be a fantastic buy for any team outside the top four.

Thanks for the posts guys :)

Iriome is a great 21 year old talent saw him play for Spain U21 and was very impressive. Well would say he is better than Nani, Campbell and even O'Shea. He will be great with Man Utd. Well surprising to see Chelsea being so patient that they havent bid for a player still now and gonna be waiting late.

Great update Treva. Loving this. :clap

Just went through this and really like the concept. Its fun to read as well. Good work.

Play this game for a few seasons and Iriome Gonzalez will become a legend.

And Chelsea please buy someone.

Italian international joins Newcastle

simonebaroneco9.jpg

Italian midfielder Simone Barone has signed a two-year deal with Newcastle United. Barone is Newcastle's third signing of the summer, alongside Ishmael Miller and Billy Jones.

Barone has played over 300 games and has appeared for the national team on 17 occasions. The Italian midfielder has played at Torino, Parma, Palermo and Chievo.

The 31 year old had a successful season at Torino last year playing 33 games and scoring five goals. His season also included nine assists and a few 'Man of the Match' performances.

Newcastle boss Sam Allardyce told reporters at St. James' Park that he hopes Barone will make a massive impact on the Premier League. "He's a brilliant player and he is a great addition to our squad. He was fantastic at Torino last season and it's no surprise that he's come to England. I'm hoping that he will make a big impact here in England. I'm sure the young lads will be looking forward to gaining some experience from him, also."

Barone is all set to play in tomorrow's friendly against Wigan Athletic at the JJB Stadium.

Experienced, capable player. He needs to fit in quickly though as he's quite old. Good signing from Allardyce considering he adjusts.

Newcastle pick up England youngster
Published: 17/07/2009

Newcastle have made their second signing of the week, this time English youngster Rhys Murphy from Arsenal. Murphy has been touted as the next Michael Owen, and now he'll be able to learn off Owen at St. James' Park.

It is expected that Newcastle had to cough up ?2.5million for the wonder-kid, who had been at Arsenal since the age of 14. Now at 18 Murphy will be hoping to break into the first team and get a few appearances under his belt.

The youngster has been capped at U19 level and Sam Allardyce believes he can become a national hero at Newcastle. "He's one of the best 18 year olds in the country, and is certainly one for the future. Having said that, there are big expectations from this young man, so we'll have to nurture him and not rush him. I look forward to talking to him and finding out his thoughts on where he wants to get to in football."

Murphy is expected to start off in the reserves, but quick progress may see him break into the first team come the end of the season.

Wow. Must be really good. He was at Arsenal for 4 years and he was a wonderkid. Arsene must have kept a close eye on him and had extra training for him. I'm sure in a few years he'll easily take Owen's place in history. Great signing!

Barone is a great experienced signing for the magpies and Murphy would be good to add to the youth of the club. he would surely learn a lot from Owen. I suppose to good signing for Newcastle. Looks like Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and United not spending much this season.

Nice presentation mate, I'm really liking this story. Nice signing there obviously has come up through a great youth system being in Aresenal for 4 years. Should be interesting to see how he goes.

Murphy is a good signing for Newcastle and £2.5million pounds isn't alot to pay for a wonderkid. No doubt will be vital in Newcastle's set up in a few years.

Arsenal set up EURO Vase progression
Eduardo, Rodr?guez and Vela secure away win

Arsenal came from behind to defeat Galatasaray 3-1 away in the first leg of their third round EURO Vase match. Goals from Eduardo, Rodr?guez and Vela made sure there would be no slip up in Turkey.

Arsenal went behind early after Umit Karan put the home side ahead on four minutes. A through ball by Topal Mehmet gave Karan room to run and made no mistake, slotting the ball past a rushing Jens Lehmann.

It took Arsenal until just past the half hour mark to level things up. Maxi Rodr?guez's cross was deflected into Eduardo's path and the Croatian striker found the back of the net from 10 yards.

Six minutes later Arsenal gained the lead, this time Rodr?guez was the goal scorer. Rodr?guez found a little room to run and unleashed a low shot which flew across the Galatasaray keeper and into the bottom corner.

Arsenal continued to dominate and on 67 minutes they sealed the win. Carlos Vela the man to score, linking up with Eduardo to give the young Mexican striker his first competitive goal of the season.

Arsenal will face Galatasaray in a weeks time at The Emirates to decide who makes it past the third round.
