1. The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale(Father of Positive Thinking). The book just recommends Bible to read and the author tries some hypnosis. The book is full of anecdotes that are hard to prove. Got boring after reading a few pages. Read it if you have faith in God.

2. How to win friends and influence people by Dale Carnegie. Interesting book, reliable anecdotes. It's a classic(as said by The Times), the book justifies and helps you learn what is said in the title. I recommend it.

Reading Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov. Not as easy a read as I expected.

"You Can Win", by Shiv Kera, a revision book of the most self-improvement books. Though it is good to read. A few narrow minded thoughts are present in it too.(Like viewing porn is the reason for rape)

Has anyone on here read The Silmarillion(or part of it)? I've been meaning to learn more about the LOTR universe but I've heard that reading The Silmarillion can get quite tedious, given its scope and archaic language. Is it worth a buy/read?

it was a outdated book even when it was released, good self improvement books allow you introspect yourself and find your inner self than give laws and rules to follow.

Shiv kera was lucky since it was early internet days that book picked up in india , doubt it will sell anywhere near if it were to debut now.

So this summer I've Neil Gaiman's entire Sandman, Alan Moore's Watchmen, H.G. Wells's Time Machine and Carl Sagan's Cosmos on my list. And the second half of Lolita which I had to leave midway. Exciting! :)
