The end of the world is nigh...or is it?

Maybe the Mayans just ran out of room on the circle of stone and went "Oh look at that, Dec 21, 2012 is the end..."

Its already 25% of population and considering the way Indian multiply.

Where did you get that Statistic?

Wikipedia said:
According to the 2001 census,[75] 77.1% of Canadians identify as being Christians; of this, Catholics make up the largest group (43.6% of Canadians). The largest Protestant denomination is the United Church of Canada. About 16.5% of Canadians declare no religious affiliation, and the remaining 6.3% are affiliated with religions other than Christianity, of which the largest is Islam numbering 1.9%, followed by Judaism at 1.1%.

I think your looking at one part of Canada. Which would be North Toronto (Brampton). Other than that, there are plenty of Arabs in Ottawa, Italians in the West side of Toronto, Portuguese are everywhere, and most Pakistanis reside in Mississauga (Just below Brampton).

I believe the only way we can keep this planet going is by harnessing the one natural energy which doesn't cost anything: the sun, solar energy.

I agree, the sun is very powerful. It's just not that cheap to harness the power of it.

The other sobering thought is that we have already done much damage to the planet and it would take a thousand years to totally get rid of any pollution on the planet.
The other thing is that the sun will eventually die in about 5,000 years, slowly dying and losing heat, leaving earth a cold, frozen barren wasteland, until the sun becomes the size of an atom and explodes, taking everything and anything in its path, including our planet. Lucky we won't be around to see that!
Hopefully human kind will be living on another planet by then but hopefully next time, they won't destroy it like we have been doing here.

Where did you hear that rubbish? When the sun changes will be when it starts to run out of Hydrogen and starts to burn Helium, when that happens it will grow and engulf the Earth. It has an estimated 5 billion years worth of Hydrogen left. You should stop reading "Apocalypse weekly" ;)

UNIVERSEGONIMPLODE!

But seriously I hate these theories. If it's not lgobal warming it's Mayan people or something. Why are some people so determined to make us think we're all doomed? I'll tell ya when the world's gonna end, when I find out the little blighter who robbed my wallet. All hell will break loose then I tell thee.

The world is not going to end for at least another 80-100 years (Coz I have to live out my life!):p

Seriously, I dont believe that the world will end. Its all a big load of crap

thats right

Thats gonna be a tough search in Liverpool:p.

Seriously though, the date has now been pushed back to 2012 for the world to end, more delays than Wembley, the thing is, people will have forgotten about it by then, so when it doesn't happen, the people won't look complete fools.

Well, it will end at some point Sai. The Sun doesn't have limitless supply of Hydrogen. The Sun won't last forever, though it will easily last till the end of our lifelines.

Rest assured Al Gore has sent a team of astronauts to look for alternative fuels to supply the Sun of it's energy and cut down on its carbon emissions.

What will happen AFTER the world ends? Woooooo now that is weird just thinking about it.
I still believe the sun will shrink down when it loses heat. It won't expand. It will explode when it gets down to the size of an atom but I won't be around to see that happen.
