With talk in local magazines that the world is going to end on Dec 21, 2014 going by an ancient Mayan calendar and scientific study, do you believe this is what will happen or is it just to scare us back into life again?
Will we be destroyed by nuclear bombs? :help
Will we be invaded by aliens?
What do you think will happen?
Will the world end or will we live to see another 2 billion years of human life?

:D

That's the reason i save each and every page of the internet. :p

Bah !

Certainly, one phrase amazes for the most, it's simply written that climates change where generally doesn't change much, and climates are calm and not a big threat as it is in places where extreme things are genuine.

Certainly again, China and myanmar being hit by the earth quake and the Cyclones, North america being undertaken By the outsiders, mexico being the place of the many mysterious cases and phenomenons, India being threatened by extreme conditions, antarctica melting, Eclipses occurring in many parts of the no man lands, Europe holding peace recently has made things more bundled through the truth of the mayans..

But, ..these things happen by time ..

I can't lay on a sticky judgment, things are weird..

Another 2 billion? We've only had 30,000 years of human life!

These apocalyptic predictions are getting tiresome. The Earth won't be destroyed by Nuclear war, we don't have enough power to do that, you might wipe out the human race, but you wouldn't destroy the world. Don't get me started on Aliens having any kind of interaction with us. The world will change, sea levels will rise slightly, some places will become uninhabitable. I'm basing all this on Scientific evidence, not some theory based on complete tripe.

Believe it or not, December the 21st is my birthday. If the world is going to end, then I'll consider having a BYO party at my place. You're all invited.

Sure thing. It may be 10 days before the World Ends, but it should be fun.

you beauty, tbh the world will not end if it does i will leave planet cricket for ever:p

The End of the World used to interest me greatly, but there have been countless 'failed armageddons' where a predicted end of the world simply doesn't happen. The fact is that deciphering clues will not reach anywhere, since countless texts can be interpreted and there is no possible motive for a creator to leave clues toward the end of the world, especially with the lack of credibility that predictions have.

However, the Mayan Calender is certainly a mysterous thing and rather than a motive, they seem to have a pseudo-scientific method for foretelling the future. IIRC, the calender ends on that date rather than actually outlining the end of the world and this could point to numerous things, such as a change in time period, such as a magnetic pole shift or the end of the Mayan race as predicted by current decline of population or a number of other things...

Correct me if i'm wrong. But the Mayan calender is circular, and in 2012 it simply has completed a full circle. Don't know why that means its the end of the world though.

But hey, lets all live in fear!! Lets all quit work/school and party hard for our final 4 years on the planet:D

I think the Mayan stuff is crap. Where are the Mayans now? That's right - DEAD!

I do, though, think the world is ending. The signs are huge - Global Warming, Snow in warm places and heat waves in tundras, tsunamis, earthquakes, natural disasters happening more and more frequently..

I'll give the earth/mankind another 600 years or so.
