The One Day Bands Draft

:wi: :ar: Keith Boyce (8-12 band)

57 runs @ 14.25 (SR 74.02, best 34) and 13 wickets @ 24.07 (econ 3.99, 1 4WI, best 4/50) in 8 ODI matches
2,395 runs @ 17.61 (1 century, best 123) and 268 wickets @ 16.05 (econ 3.29, 13 4WI, best 8/26) in 164 List A matches

Keith Boyce was an absolute machine of a player in one-day cricket, especially during the vibrant early days of the county one-day scene with the Gillette Cup, B&H Cup and Sunday League. In 149 one-day matches for Essex, he took 243 wickets @ 15.53 - an astonishing and almost unparalleled track record. He also biffed it down the order.

First of all: @Neo 7 @Yash. you're gonna want to make your picks soon.

Secondly:

I was sure I'd be taking a bowler here, but the more I thought about it, the more I realised all of my targets are way more likely to get through to my next pick than Sam Hain is. A limited overs specialist who averages 57 in List A games and scored 89 on ODI debut, it's baffling he hasn't been given more games than just two against Ireland.

@Bladezz

for my 1 cap band I'm gonna pick up Bill Lawry :aus: , who's career was ending when the ODI format came into existence. Lawry is arguably Australian cricketing royalty.

@Aravind.

Shane Bond comes knocking as my strike bowler

please go ahead with the draft , will post when find some time

extreme late pick costed me Sam Hain, who I was proud to find without even using statsguru and now its busted

Stuart MacGill! EZ PZ!

ODIs: 6 wkts in 3 games @17.50

List A: 193 wkts in 107 games @22.52

Ben Foakes to be my 100% Band, with a solitary ODI and 61 runs to his name to take care of my keeping (actually, way more than just take care)

Xavier Bartlett is my 90% pick to get started on the bowling, with 8 wickets in his only 2 games at an average of 4.75

@Umair7

Two things first:
1. I gave Jack an extra 12 hours because I turned 21 yesterday and was unavailable all day, as such
2. The index won't be updated until Wednesday at least because I'm a bit busy with uni right now.

However, I'm here to pick, because there's a player so good that I need to take the shot right now.

On a rate stat basis, Fred Trueman is one of the best Test quicks of all time. On an aggregate state basis, he's one of the best FC bowlers of all time. But not many people connect him with one-dayers. He retired before the first ever ODI, but he did play 18 games in the 1960s, making him 1) eligible and 2) probably the best 0-capper in the whole draft not affected by apartheid.

:wi: :ar: Lance Gibbs (3-4 band)

2 wickets @ 29.50 (econ 2.26, best 1/12) in 3 ODI matches
64 wickets @ 25.26 (econ 3.35, 1 5WI, best 5/38) in 54 List A matches

My next pick is one of the all-time great economy bowlers: West Indian off-spinner Lance Gibbs. His international stats are extraordinary: a Test economy rate of 1.98 and an ODI economy rate (admittedly over just three matches) of just 2.26: cricket may have been a different game when he played it, but it wasn't that different - Gibbs was just borderline impossible to get away. Gibbs was, however, a non-batter - he slots in at 10 currently, but is likely to move down.
