I'm baaaaaaack (again)! My final exam for this semester is Wednesday, so I now have time to run another of ye ole RNG Drafts.
I wanted to retry the RLG Draft here, but I realised I might have an even better idea: what about a rerun of @Aislabie's Panesar Draft, but mixed with a RNG Draft? I'll explain:
RULES:
1. This draft will take place over an ODI format. All cricketers to have played any first-class cricket are eligible though.
1. For Rounds 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11:
a) Each participant must submit one player for the Unlucky Dip. It is possible, but not recommended, for this player to be any good. You can receive this player back.
b) Once I have everyone's player for the round, I will use Random.org to assign them.
2. For Rounds 2, 4, 6, 8, 10:
a) I'll filter Cricinfo's search to include all players from notable nations (this should be fairly obvious). This will result in an x amount of pages (for this draft, ytd).
b) For each participant, I will use random.org to generate what page they may select from to try and fix their team.
c) I'll DM each participant with their options. They have 72 hours to make their selections.
d) Everyone's RNG list, and pick, is revealed after all picks are complete or after a reasonable amount of time, and the next day the process repeats.
e) There's no 11-to-1 or fixed batting position rules this draft, because the Unlucky Dip is disadvantage enough. The only selection rule is you can't pick a player taken (or Unlucky Dipped) by another team already. Though with over 500 pages to choose from, you'd be ridiculously unlucky to have that happen to you.
Note: the link to the relevant Statsguru filter for anyone who wants to scout (or for me when I inevitably forget it) is this
This draft will be hard capped at 12 signups, if we make it that far, due to the fact that a 20-person Unlucky Dip would be ChaosTM.
