Cheers Briggs, I'm still making great progress. As well as all the match info it can now update team data (how many games won/lost/tied, net run rate etc). This will probably result in a dynamic league table that is automatically updated, saving Chez and Briggsey some work (hopefully). This feature was actually in the previous system, but it was so embarrasingly buggy I never mentioned it

Also started getting it to update player stats. I'm aiming to finish that completely tomorrow, so that I can test it thoroughly and write some of the interface (the pages where you will see the players stats in the database). I will also try and speak to Ste (admin Ste, not ste_mc_efc ) about getting it onto planetcricket server.

Hopefully this will work really well.

Right, this could be quite interesting. I sold my No.7 batsman Wayne Melia. So, in my default orders he has been replaced by Darren Allardyce (my best guy) who also happens to be opening. Does this mean he bats twice in the game or is it just a visual problem? I'm going to leave it as it is to see. I should probably win my game anyway, even if I play with only 10 guys or whatever else should happen.

Did you sell him before you had a chance amend your orders for today's game? I doubt a single player can bat twice in a game so it will probably be just a visual bug and your either playing with 10 or another person from your squad will be batting at 7 instead.

Yeah, you're right. It's another guy from my squad. I'm 81/3 after 10 overs, in a bit of bother.

I have made a big decision regarding my team. I am going to stop Rudi and Tuckett's training next season, and buy a new keeper-batter trainee with my 2 mill, and promote a bowling trainee from my academy (Preferrably a respectable spinner). If I don't get the bowler I want, may buy a new one...

Didn't actually get much done today thanks to being a combination of busy and lazy. Managed to start getting it to grab players batting stats.

Also I'm thinking (or rather, dreaming ) or a system where people can log in, post their own comments etc on players/teams/matches, maybe even rate them etc. I might see if I can use the vbulletin login system, i.e. you can go straight from the forums without logging in, or I might have to implement my own (i.e. you have another login and password).
If I manage to create this, it also might ease the strain if everyone puts their own matches in. Is that a good idea or a bad?

What does everyone think of the ideas as a whole?

Hmm, ok. If you put it that way, it might be better to make it a vb mod. Actually that will be a bit difficult - I've never made a vb mod before. Also, PC is the only place I know of to test such a mod. Either I will get some help doing it (unlikely) or I'll just do a little bit of integration (i.e. if the user is logged in to the forums).
