Story The Silent Planet tour

Unfortunately, due to work commitments, this tour will be put on hold for about 3 weeks as I will be out of the country. I will endeavour to play and post more regularly when I return.

That's a shame. I was enjoying reading that and some excellent action screens too. Have fun in SA.

Just building the suspense Colin... and glad you're enjoying it.

If I get to see some cricket out there, it will be worth it!

See y'all

With foreign work finished (for now at least) and having recovered from no sleep on the plane, day 2 of the match has finally got under way again:

Both Strauss and Trescothick made reasonably confident starts with Strauss in particular being aggressive, hitting over the top for a couple of boundaries in the covers. England's best shot of the morning came as Trescothick advanced down the pitch and played a Pathan Yorker with such exquisite timing that it raced back past the bowler for 4 runs.

Strauss tried for one boundary too many in the last over of the morning, and flashed at one that was far too close to his body. Tendulkar took a smart catch in the slips. At lunch, England are 39 / 1 with Trescothick on 17, and the new man Butcher on 2.

Its tea here at Lord's and England have moved to 114 / 2 from 40 overs.

Big Marcus must have enjoyed his lunch as he immediately clubbed Agarkar back over his head for 2 successive boundaries.

The next couple of overs went for 14 runs and then Kumble was brought in. In his second over, he produced some turn and bowled Butcher who missed a cut from outside off stump - the ball hitting middle and leg. Both the settled Trescothick, and new batsman Vaughn struggled with the leg spin, and amazingly, Kumble was taken off with figures of 5 / 3 / 1 / 3.

Tres quickly moved past 50, hitting 5 fours in the process. Vaughn looks in good form and despite only 17 runs from 50 balls, he looks set to try and make a big total.

Looking good for a big total here, the only thing that can stop you is the traditional england collapse that we have all come to love :)

Nice screenshots to !

Will continue tomorrow, but let's just say that your prediction may not be too far from the truth! :(

Vaughn added only 3 runs after lunch before being run-out attempting a silly 3rd run. This sparked a poor afternoon for England. Some excellent, tight bowling by the indian seamers frustrated the England batsmen. When Kumble was brought on, they tried to dominate the bowling, losing Thorpe LBW, and Geraint Jones to a superb caught & bowled. When Giles was bowled by Pathan, the score stood at 191 / 7, and England still more than 100 adrift.

Why Kumble was immediately removed from the attack is a mystery. He finished the day with figures of 12 / 6 / 16 / 3 and not one batsman looked settled.

However, with attacking fields now set, and therefore more gaps in the field, a quick-fire 20 from 11 balls by Simon Jones that included 2 huge sixes back over the bowler's head, and Flintoff looking settled on 31, this could yet turn into a challenging match. England finishing day 2 on 217 / 7.

Further config changes now to make the "well-timed hook" a little more powerful, and make the advance slog slightly less powerful and harder to time

Nice screen shots man,looks great,

Thanks for the encouragement folks. I appreciate it :cheer

It wasn't the innings that took so long - it was me flapping around with the graphics for incredibly minor and pedantic tweaks that you probably won't notice anyway.

On with the important stuff, which is of course: the game!!!

Day 3 sees some cloud and a slight possibility of rain. Consequently, the temperature has dropped a few degrees, but London is still warm. Obviously a good spring here in the capital. India will hope to polish off the England innings quickly, wheras England will hope to get as close as possible to the Indian total.

The "slight possibility" turned into a "definite" after 3 overs and the heavens opened. When play resumed at approimately 16:15, the lads had obviously been told to get a shift on. Both Jones and Flintoff playing aggressively from the off. Freddie was caught at mid off to an excellent slower ball from Balaji.

Jones proceeded to his 50 at a fair old pace - needing just 39 balls and scoring 3 6's and 4 4's. Ganguly's decision to take the new ball the previous over looked correct as Jones was deceived by the extra bounce and edged a cut to Sehwag in the gully without adding to his total. The crowd were desperate for a Harmison cameo, but instead saw him hoof one high in the air to be taken by Ganguly at mid off. That's the 3rd wicket for the Balaji / Ganguly pairing - something England must address in the second innings.

Flintoff and Simon Jones have brought England back into the match. India lead by 41 runs with a difficult hour or so to bat on day 3.

Without Trescothick's 77, England would be really up against it. Freddie and Simon Jones at least found a paddle. It was a trade-off between fast runs and preserving their wickets when the rains came. Mr Speedy won!
