Story The Silent Planet tour

Vaughn and Tres had the highest partnership of 56. Not exactly record -breaking. This was due in part to some good tight bowling - especially by Kumble who only bowled 12 overs! All pacemen bowled well and it was only the beasting towards the end from Jones that dented some otherwise excellent performances.

I'm assuming that the scorecard has been edited by you to put an NO in.
One of the many paintshop induced flappings I mentioned earlier! Well spotted. You'll need to be reasonably familiar with Aussie1st's "Channel 9" screens to notice the others :)

come on india:)
Aha, the visiting fans are making themselves heard. :cheer This should help the opening pair currently on their way to the crease :)

With the ball doing absolutely nothing, it was down to the batsmen to give their wickets away in droves. Unfortunately for England, they didn't!

Some loose bowling and careful shot selection enabled India to make steady progress. Their only blemish was Sehwag falling for 8; LBW to Hoggard in his last of a 7 over spell. After 15 overs, India are 35 / 1 - a lead of 76. Dravid has reached 6, and Chopra is unbeaten on 18. EDIT: Forgot to mention that Dravid could have been quacking his way back to the pavillion having edged Harmison barely over Jones behind the stumps :mad

Play resumes tomorrow, and India will be looking for a target of 250 - 300 to defend. (Let's be honest though, with the state of MY batting, anything above 200 is going to be tricky!)

Nice use of pictures there, think you will need to bowl well to win this one. Anything above 300 and you could be in trouble.

Time to bat out a draw for you :)
We've got to get into bat first - and that's posing enough of a problem so far!

Day 4 kicks off with the sun bursting through and burning off the remains of last night's cloud. Its quite warm, but not enough to tire the bowlers too quickly, though England may rue the lack of swing opportunity if the seamers can't cut the mustard.

1st over and Chopra loses the plot. Vaughn has just brought mid on up from long on, and Chopra heaves one in the air straight to our newly positioned fielder. Hoggard claiming his second wicket of the innings. The English excitement is somewhat tempered by the fact that Tendulkar is now at the crease.

config change as all backfoot edges were flying way over the slips - almost 1 bounce 4's. The height and power of edge fast 4 have been lowered, and the direction range increased.

At lunch, India have reached 112 / 3 - a lead of 153 runs. Dravid and Tendulkar played steadily, punishing the bad balls and put on 61 before a hostile spell by Jones saw Tendulkar mis-time a hook to a vicious bouncer. He was caught at mid on off a huge ballooning edge. Ganguly has survived 21 balls for his 2. He does not look happy against the pace of Jones and Harmison, and I've lost count of the number of edges that have been flying down past the keeper and slips. If 2 or 3 go to hand in the afternoon, the score could be reduced drastically. As it stands now though, the destiny of this game lies in India's hands.

Great story thread buddy. Meanwhile, what patch are u using? I think u are playing as England rite? Since the CPU is doing well against you, can you tell which patch u use so that others can try it also.

Thanks saisrini. Its frustrating, but enjoyable. Yes I am England - hence the slightly panicked writing style at the moment. :D

The AI patch is one that The_gas and I made from scratch. I have been slowly tweaking it to suit my style of play as I find things. He has been doing the same, so we have probably ended up with very different patches. :) There is plenty that is still default, and plenty still to work on.

I wasn't planning on releasing it, but I will certainly post it in its current form if people want to try it. Please bear in mind that the patch is very easy to play compared with Tutsi's, Ravi's etc. The fact that I really am not that good (especially at batting) makes it seem a difficult add-on.

Incidentally - I have only played test matches with this. I've no idea the what simulated scores are or what a ODI game would do.

EDIT: Please do not post feedback on the patch in this thread. If you want to modify anything, please feel free. If you would like me to change anything specifically, please PM me.

Thanks guys,

John.

Hey this story is a great read! Top draw stuff mate!

Yeah, you seem to be having a tough time against the CPU. I guess all those edges, and drop catches might have been a bit too irritating, especially the ones that run down to the boundary.
