The Ugly Australians

I say bugger all this technology, don't show it.

Then umpires can make there decisions and if it's actually wrong then no one will really care as they will have no evidence to back a wrong decision up as no technology will be used.

We should just do that, like in the 80's...

Agreed, and some of the best cricket was played then... I'm definitely not implying this has an influence on the standards of the game but we're atleast not so pre-occupied. On the other hand tv commentators wouldn't know what to say without it ;)

Watch any sport and you will realize that human error is involved. It's not until the umpires make a string of bad decisions that something immediate needs to be done.

Well the ICC has appointed Goolam 'no racism in Zimbabwean cricket' Vahanvati to see if some Australian supporters are in fact racist.
I have to say that I don't really see what the ICC can do about this. If they penalise Australia then they are penalising all the genuine fans. IMO Cricket Australia need to employ more stewards and give a life ban to anyone found instigating racism. It'll cost them some money in extra staff but I think they'll find that their reputation is worth that.

He'll probably tell the ICC exactly whatever it is they want to hear. That guy could investigate the pope and find no evidence of Catholicism.

did anyone consider that what is baing said that is being considered "rascist" could simply consist of the same type of payouts that fit under the bracket of "convict, whingening poms, sheep lovers" etc. i would hope that this is all it consists of, and i personally hane never whitnessed rascism at the cricket.

Perhaps the fans think that but the players consider it racism rather than acceptable banter so I guess that's what should count.

I will be as nice as I can with this without getting in trouble again :)

Racism around the world is out of control, like the incidents in sydney and at the cricket. Even here on this forum alot of people are racist towards Australians, they say "Typical Arrogant Australians" or something along that lines, that is being racist. But I see alot of racism towards any body from any country, I don't care where I come from or how I got here, I dug into my family history the other night and my family started with one guy who got shipped to Tasmania from England as a convict, he got busted stealing sheep with his so called gang and served 15 years down here and then settled near by and started a family. So convict, whinging pom, and sheep lover all in the one sentance explains how my family started, and I find it funny to tell you the truth.

Anyway all I am saying people are people, and regardless from where your from we all should treat each other as we would like to be treated, if something happens with this racist stuff at the cricket then I hope it sends out a strong message that it's gotta stop, cause I hate it.

Even tho aussies might be on the top right now...they still need to respect other players...Aussies have become very rastics in fact...IF your the top team have some TOP Class then...A top team doesnt do this stuff...In my view even know bangladesh or canada are way better in class than the aussies...This isnt right and i tottaly agree with the cricket info article...Pointing is a disgrace...hes been to happy for to long...

Well I was the one who made this thread, so I agree were an uglly team at the moment.

haven't posted in thread at all, good comments up there. As far as crowd behaviour go then Asian crowds don't just give flowers either. I've heard some real spicy juicy taunts in India. But its an issue only if the authorities can't control few things properly otherwise things are under control in our neck of woods now.

The difference is, of course, that the players don't feel threatened by the comments thrown at them, in India. Or not to a degree where they are willing to complain to the ICC and the press.

just read that article and i got no idea what there whingin about?
kaffir??
Kaffir boetas?????
