Tied Match Question

Have a little query, if anyone can give an answer.

Playing 50 over World Championship, semi final stage.

Sri Lanka batted 1st, 220 off 33.2 overs
Australia batted 2nd, 220 off 24.2 overs

PS4 awards Sri Lanka a place in the final.

They had played in same Pool to qualify, Aussies won 4 lost 2, S.Lanka won 3 lost 3
Aussies had a better run rate, although S.Lanka did win the pool match by 1 wicket.

I thought the rules were whichever team finished higher in the pool got awarded the match if a knockout game was tied (2015 World Cup Rules).

I think the pool game who wins will go through , this theory was used in one of the Competitions
